1. Introduction: What's your story?
Hi, I'm Karly – owner and lead creator at Treehouse Studios photography where we love capturing life’s most precious moments and presenting these images with vibrant edits that reflect your real life memories.
On your wedding day, every carefully curated detail is a reflection of your unique personalities as individuals and as a couple. It's a truly special occasion that beautifully illustrates who you are. There is a special magical feeling in capturing the joy and magic that is your wedding day! Together we will create a beautiful representation of your unique love story. I encourage couples to embrace their own rhythm and dynamic, offering guidance & taking a step back to allow the magic between you to unfold naturally.
2. How long have you been shooting weddings? How many weddings have you photographed?
I began shooting weddings in 2020 and quickly realized that this is where I am meant to specialize and thrive. Since then I have photographed about 50 unique wedding stories and I look forward to sharing wedding day memories with many couples for years to come.
3. How would you describe your photography style?
My photography style is where go with the flow meets fun & assertive. I believe that the best photos are the ones where you are truly being yourself and having fun, and that's what I strive to capture on your wedding day. Overall, the goal is to create memories that will last a lifetime!
I love capturing those special in-between moments when you're not posing for the camera. These candid shots often turn out to be the most authentic and meaningful images in your gallery. Your classically styled portraits will stand the test of time with clean true to life editing. These are the types of images that you'll be excited to display in your home for years to come. And finally, I'm always looking for unique and artistic ways to capture your story. Whether it's experimenting with lighting, angles, or props, I love pushing the boundaries to create something interesting & new.
4. How well in advance should couples book their wedding photographer?
Ideally, I recommend booking your photographer around a year in advance. Some of the most popular wedding dates tend to book up quickly and you won’t want to lose out on your favorite photographer.
5. What are the different packages that you offer and which one is your most popular package?
I offer a flexible range of package options to suit the unique nature of each wedding. Package options begin with three hour elopements and go all the way up to include 12 hours coverage, 2 photographers and lots of exciting extras.
Our most popular package includes 2 photographers for 8 hours of coverage, an engagement or post-wedding session & sneaks in 48 hours!
6. Are you the wedding photographer who will be shooting on the wedding day? Who else is there in your team?
Your Experience Is So Important to me!
I love building a relationship with each couple whose wedding I am honored to capture. That is why I, Karly Walker, will always be the main photographer when you hire Treehouse Studios for your wedding. When I require a second photographer, or in the extremely rare occasion I require an associate photographer, I collaborate with several amazing and talented photographers throughout Michigan.
7. Do you charge a travel fee? For what distance? What does that cover?
Most weddings in Michigan do not incur a travel fee. Events that are over 200 miles from Traverse City Michigan will require a fee to cover my travel expenses.
8. Are albums or prints included in your packages?
Albums and prints are not included in any packages, however, they are available for purchase separately or within your gallery. I do offer custom design services as well.
9. How long after the wedding will the couple receive the images? How will they be delivered?
I know that you’re going to be excited to see your images quickly so you can relive every wonderful moment together. Sneak peaks will be delivered within 48 hours of your event and you can expect to receive the full online gallery in no longer than twelve weeks, but usually delivered within six weeks. Wedding galleries are delivered via email with a convenient online link and personal download pin. I host these calories for a minimum of 12 months, but have never removed a gallery to date.
10. What is your cancellation and/or refund policy?
Cancellations happen & sometimes events are rescheduled. In the event of a cancellation your 25% deposit is not refundable. Depending upon the amount of time ahead of the event, there may be an additional 10% fee assessed when arrangements cannot be made to rebook the date. Further details can be discussed & viewed in your contract.
