10 Questions with Liam Crotty

1. Introduction: What's your story?

Hello! my name is Liam Crotty! I first started in the business over 14 years ago specializing in wedding photography, and along the years branched out into doing both photography and videography for clients. As things progressed, I moved towards more consistently providing videography for clients, and now about half of our business is from wedding videography alone! My business, Wedding Photo & Video by Liam was first established in 2007 in Miami, and has only expanded since then! We now serve the greater Southern Florida area, including Miami, Ft. Lauderdale, Tampa, Naples, the Florida Keys, and even internationally throughout the Caribbean.

2. How long have you been filming weddings? How many weddings have you filmed?

Photo & Video by Liam has been filming since 2007! As for the number of weddings? We have shot more than 750 weddings over the better part of the last two decades, including over 100 in 2019 alone!

3. How would you describe your videography style?

We’ve got a very flexible style depending on our clients’ needs. We try to maintain contemporary standards while drawing on classic foundations.

4. How well in advance should couples book their wedding videographer?

As soon as possible! Normally we have bookings about 6-12 months out from the wedding, and we commonly have dates reserved a year, or even up to 24 months in advance!

5. What are the different packages that you offer and which one is your most popular package?

We offer customized packages for each client based on their unique, individual needs! That said, we usually do contracts based on the hours of coverage required to capture what the clients would like of their big day - usually between four to ten hours, with an average of 6 hours. We have covered many multiple day events, and even backyard weddings: we have something for every couple.

6. Are you the wedding videographer who will be filming on the wedding day? How many camera people and cameras will be operating on the day?

We have a TEAM of about 6 videographers who usually work either as a single lead, or as a team of two: a lead and a second videographer. When we are hired, our office manager will assign one of our Lead videographers to the client.
Clients have the option of adding a 2nd videographer for better coverage but there is an added expense.

7. Do you charge a travel fee? For what distance? What does that cover?

Our rates that we quote the client have all our expenses already factored in. In general, we don’t charge a travel fee.

8. How do you back-up your footage to ensure no footage is lost and for how long do you keep the footage after the wedding?

we maintain multiple high-capacity archival drives with redundancy to avoid lost footage from ever occurring: as well as 3rd “off-site” satellite hard drive. We keep clients raw footage and archives for 6 months guaranteed.

9. How long after the wedding will the couple receive the video? And how will the video be delivered?

We are one of the fastest studios in Florida! We will have your edited video back to you within 3 weeks. At the moment, our main competitor is taking 2-3 MONTHS to deliver edited videos. The couple usually receives a link for a download, a youtube link to a video, as well as the option for purchasing a high-capacity USB drive of the video, and the option for a USB of raw footage as well.

10. What is your cancellation and/or refund policy?

Deposits are non-refundable. During COVID, we have been much more flexible with this policy. Please inquire if you have exact questions.
