10 Questions with Jennifer Chahoud

1. Introduction: What's your story?

Hi! Thats me, Jenny, and the cute guy holding my hand also holds my heart! I'm a newlywed myself and tied the knot on 09.08.18! When I started my event planning business, being the hopeless romantic that I am, I quickly decided I wanted to focus on weddings. I still get teary eyed during every ceremony when it's time to say the "I Do's". If it weren't for my amazing couples, I wouldn't have the chance to do what makes my heart happy and for that I am forever grateful for each and every one of them.

2. What's your experience as a wedding planner? How many weddings have you planned?

I initially started my business on 2010 where I focused on pageants and local festivals in Arizona. It wasn't until I planned my own wedding starting in 2017 that I fell in love with the industry and shifted my entire focus. Starting from 2018 I only planned weddings going forward. I've planned over 50 weddings since then and have 35 in the books left for 2021.

After moving to Vegas was when my wedding business really took off because the market here was so great compared to AZ. With all the destination weddings and non local couples, a planner is exactly what they need to make sure their Vegas wedding is planned and executing perfectly!

3. What sorts of services do you offer (month-of coordination, full-service planning, or à la carte planning)?

I offer 2 coordination packages and 3 planning packages to be able to fit everyone's needs.

My services include:
- Day of Coordination
- Month of Coordination
- Partial Planning
- Full Planning
- Intimate wedding planning (less than 50 guest)
- and Hourly planning and design meetings for the bride on a budget that still needs guidance

4. How do payments work (a percentage of the wedding budget, a flat fee etc.)? What are the different packages that you offer and which one is your most popular package?

I offer a flat fee for all of my services. I don't believe that my fee should increase just because a couple has more money to spend on their wedding day. Whether your budget is 30k or 100k you still get the same amount of attention to detail as the rest. I charge for my services based on what I believe is a fair price for the amount of work needed per package. Being that I'm a Vegas planner and 70% of my couples aren't local, my most popular package is the full planning package.

5. Who else is in your team and how many people on your staff will be at the wedding?

I am the lead planner for my business and under me are 3 great assistant that help the day of the event to make sure there isn't a beat missed on the wedding day. I typically have between 1-3 assistants for your wedding day beginning on the extent of the event and how many pairs of hands I will need on site.

6. What happens if you're sick or otherwise unable to be there on the day of the wedding?

I have never missed a wedding to date *knock on wood* and I don't ever plan too either. In the event that something were to happen out of my control and I am unable to attend, I mentioned earlier that I always have 1-3 assistant with me the day of the event. One of my assistants would gladly step in and take the lead for your big day! All assistants are debriefed by me about 1 week before the wedding day on all the details.

7. How many meetings will you have with the couple and how will they be involved?

This is highly dependent on the package that they select since it's divided into many sections. For example the day of coordination package comes with 2 in person 2 hour meetings versus the full planning package is unlimited. Yes, unlimited. You have full access to me!

8. Will you handle the invitations, from wording and ordering to the addressing and mailing? What about guest list coordination and RSVPs?

Since I don't know your guests personally it's a bit difficult for me to keep track of your guest list and RSVPs. I always suggest to my clients using an online portal to manage this part of the wedding. There are a lot of websites like Zola.com that have these programs built in where you can add all of your guests, track their RSVPS, and even create seating charts.

Depending on which package the couple selects I will assist that with designing the invitation, wording, and etiquette. If budget allows we will have the printing company include all guest address on the envelopes as well.

9. Do you handle rentals? Will you coordinate delivery, arrival and set up times with the photographer, the florist, the musicians and the caterer/banquet manager?

I am your main point of contact on the day of the event and all of your vendors will refer to me for all of their needs. I will make sure all deliveries, setup, and tear downs are done in a timely manner. I will also create a detailed timeline that is sent to all your vendors 2 weeks prior to the wedding day ensuring everyone knows where they are supposed to be and when!

10. Can you create a timeline that tells everyone involved in the planning process (other pros, members of the wedding party, to-be-weds and families) what to do and when to do it? How will you make sure everyone sticks to the schedule?

Yes and yes! My timelines are so detailed that anyone would be able to pick it up, look at it, and know where they are supposed to be and what time they should be there. On average my timelines range between 4-6 pages. In addition to the timeline I also create a detailed wedding setup list and a floor plan.
