10 Questions with Erin

1. Introduction: What's your story?

My name is Erin Winter Raymond, and I am the founder and lead photographer at Erin Winter Photography LLC. My love for photography began when I was a child, and has only blossomed since!

While I photograph families, seniors, pets, maternities, newborns, and just about anything or anyone I can get in front of my lens, my passion is in Wedding Photography. There is just something so beautiful about the love, joy, and personal details that are associated with weddings, and I truly find it a high honor to capture the day for you!

In addition to being your photographer, I am also a Pediatric Oncology/Hematology Nurse, military wife, equestrian, and a "mom" to two dogs, a cat, and a horse.

2. How long have you been shooting weddings? How many weddings have you photographed?

I have been shooting weddings for just over 2 years, and have shot a half a dozen weddings (with more coming up soon!)
While I am "newer" to the wedding photography game, I guarantee an exemplary level of professionalism, customer service and creativity that rivals other photographers with decades of experience. I am also committed to furthering my education, which means you'll be working with a photographer who has new ideas, fresh creativity, and lots of enthusiasm!

3. How would you describe your photography style?

Authentic. Timeless. Colorful. Classic.

My photography style emphasizes on capturing you and your fiance', just as you are, in a fashion that will never go out of style. I provide enough posing guidance to ensure you feel comfortable in front of the camera, while also providing unique "prompts" that allow me to photograph the candid beauty of your relationship. There will be laughing, smiling, displays of affection, and just maybe a tear or two (of happiness.)

My editing style is based on the aesthetic of film photography, with a focus on highlighting beautiful and authentic colors. I also love the classic style of black and white photography, and deliver a combination of both color and B+W.

4. How well in advance should couples book their wedding photographer?

The peak wedding season in Colorado is from May - October. While I have more flexibility during the other months, regardless of your wedding date, I recommend booking your wedding photographer 12-16mo in advance.

5. What are the different packages that you offer and which one is your most popular package?

I currently offer 2 standard packages, a 6hr "Gold" and a 8hr "Platinum" package. Both packages include high-resolution and professionally edited digital photos that are delivered through a private online gallery. In addition, each package also includes a complimentary engagement session - this is a great opportunity to get to know each other, and for you to practice in front of the camera (aka, realize that we actually have a lot of fun!)

While the 8hr Platinum package is the most popular package, each package can be uniquely customized to meet your needs. This may mean: adding a second shooter, more or less coverage, inclusion of products (albums, prints, etc.) a pre-wedding boudoir session, etc. Packages can also be altered to meet certain budgetary needs... let's talk!

6. Are you the wedding photographer who will be shooting on the wedding day? Who else is there in your team?

I am the lead and primary shooter for Erin Winter Photography and will be shooting your wedding day! If you decide to add on a "second shooter," the secondary photographer will be chosen and thoroughly vetted by myself to ensure professionalism and photographic quality.
All photos will by edited by Erin Winter Photography.

7. Do you charge a travel fee? For what distance? What does that cover?

There is a travel "fee" for weddings outside of an 80mi radius from my home in Colorado Springs, CO. These weddings have unique packages with set prices. The built in travel fee covers gas, mileage, time, and hotel fees. Erin Winter Photography is also available for weddings outside of Colorado. Please inquire for more details.

8. Are albums or prints included in your packages?

Albums and prints are not included in my standard packages, but can be added on at any time. In addition, your online gallery will be directly linked to a print shop where you can purchase professional quality prints and canvases from your wedding.
I highly encourage clients to print their photos!

9. How long after the wedding will the couple receive the images? How will they be delivered?

Galleries will be delivered via the private, online gallery within 8 weeks of the wedding! Because I understand wanting to share the joy with friends and family, I do try to provide a "sneak peak" with select photos within 48hrs of your wedding.

10. What is your cancellation and/or refund policy?

In order to book Erin Winter Photography, a non-refundable retainer will be placed at the time of booking. This is 30% of the package price, with the remaining 70% due 30 days prior to the wedding. In the even of a cancellation, the retainer will not be refunded, but can be applied to a different session at a later date.

(All of these boring, but important, details will be clearly detailed in your contract!)
