1. Introduction: What's your story?

Hello, I am Lulu Robledo, lead makeup artist of Hair and Makeup by Lulu. Maria Sanchez is our lead hairstylist who also happens to be my mom! We are a family owned hair and makeup business who specializes in bridal. We love helping our free-spirited brides to look natural and beautiful by enhancing your features so that you can look naturally glowing and gorgeous without feeling like you’re not yourself.

You said "Yes!" And our goal is to make this part as smooth and as easy as possible for you. Bridal Hair and Makeup are one of the most important aspects of wedding day, as a bride you are the star of the show, all eyes are on you and we are here to help you feel beautiful and confident in your hair and makeup look. 2. What's your experience as a bridal hair & makeup artist? How many brides are in there in your portfolio?

Doing hair and makeup is one thing, but specializing in bridal is something else! There are so many preparations when it comes to weddings! It’s not only the work that’s behind Hair and Makeup that’s important but many other things that you must provide as a wedding professional! For example: Time Management- showing up on time and making sure everyone is ready by the desired time, and working quickly and efficiently when someone shows up late or something else happens. Being Reliable & Professional- meaning you’re not going to cancel a wedding because you got a better offer or decided to go on vacation. For the bride herself there is beauty preparations needed prior to wedding day as well, for example if her hair is too short or thin but wants a long hairstyle with volume, hair extensions are needed, this must be discussed before wedding day and do a trial to make sure it’s the right amount of hair for her, right color and length for her wedding hairstyle goal. As far as my experience as a Beauty PRO I have 10 years and from weddings alone I have 4 years. I have helped over 100+ brides and continue to learn something new with every wedding that I have. From every bride I learn how to provide better value, better service and of course gives me more experience with working with different skin tones, skin types, and hair types as well.

3. What are the different packages that you offer and which one is your most popular package?

We offer 3 different Hair and Makeup packages for brides with varying hair and makeup appointments based on your needs. Our first package is for our out-of-town brides who will not be able to come in to our salon to do a trial session prior to wedding day.

Our second Package is the most popular package and this one is for brides who live in town and anyone who wants to do a trial session prior to wedding day. A trial session is required for brides. We feel makeup and hairstyling is so personal, it must be personalized to each bride’s specific style and facial features. During the trial session we can create a look together, talk logistics and create a plan to achieve your goals.

4. Do you have a team of assistants or will you be the only artist that day? What will happen if you're sick or have an emergency on the wedding day?

I have a team of 3 people total. I (Lulu) am the lead makeup artist, Maria is our lead hairstylist and Maribel is our assistant who helps us prep hair/makeup to speed up the process for bigger bridal parties. On wedding day, if we have an even number of hair/makeup services I will be working on someone for makeup while Maria works on someone else for hair, when we are done will swap the girls and continue, in the end we will finish at the same time.

We take weddings seriously and we will not cancel unless it is a cause beyond our control, such as a natural disaster, accident, illness or injury beyond our control. In the event that we cannot perform our agreement in whole or in part we will return all fees to our bride and I will refer her to other recommended hair/makeup artists.

5. Do you charge a travel fee? For what distance? What does that cover?

We currently only offer on-location services for parties of 4 or more, per service booked in Corpus Christi, Tx and surrounding areas. We have travel fees for all on-location services, fees vary according to how far we have to travel away from the salon, this covers gas.

6. Can the bride book a wedding makeup trial appointment and will you also do a trial before the wedding?

Absolutely! Actually a trial session is required for brides. We feel makeup and hairstyling is so personal, it must be personalized to each bride's specific style and facial features. A trial session is the best way to get to know you, your likes and dislikes and any ideas you may have. We like to test different products, colors, and styles on you and make adjustments together so that your hair and makeup is exactly what you are looking for your big day! Before setting up a trial session appointment I like to talk to my brides about how to prepare for their appointment, I send them over some infographics on how to prepare their skin and hair before their trial and also give them a bridal beauty timeline + checklist so they can prepare for wedding day. A lot of times hair extensions are needed to achieve the hairstyle of your dreams or to add volume/length, if this is your case I will help you choose the right hair extensions according to your needs, right length, color, amount of hair needed etc. When you book with me, you don’t only book me for wedding day, I will help you achieve your hair & makeup goals prior to your special day!

Trial runs are not offered free of charge and are only offered Tuesday - Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm as we primarily book weddings on weekends.

PLEASE NOTE: We reserve first come, first serve. We recommend scheduling your trial run after booking with us. We do not hold wedding dates if we do not have your contract AND deposit payment received. Please keep this in mind If you decide to do a trial run prior to booking your wedding day.

7. What beauty products do you use and would you be open to the bride using her own make-up?

We offer Traditional Makeup Only! I do NOT provide airbrushed makeup. Traditional makeup is applied by hand tools such as a brush, or sponge and it can be worked into the skin for an even finish. The coverage of traditional makeup can range from a natural dewy glow to a matte heavy/full coverage based on the formula.

Yes, I am open to the bride bringing her own makeup. Some brides have sensitive skin or like to use mineral makeup only, if this is your case you are welcome to bring any of your products.

8. How can you make the bride's wedding makeup last and look good in photos?

Since we specialize in bridal we know how important it is for the makeup application to last all day, for this reason we only include long wearing products in our beauty kit. From foundations, lipsticks , powders to setting sprays they are all with brides in mind.

9. How long will makeup take on the day and how long will you be staying for on the day?

Hair and makeup takes about an hour per service. Time can vary depending on desired look and hair length, density and texture. We will stay for the amount of services booked only, which is why we suggest offering hair and makeup to everyone in your bridal party, moms, or family members before booking with us. We often get asked on wedding day if we can add any more family members for hair/makeup and we sadly have to decline them because there was no time scheduled for them. We do book 2 weddings in one day (if time allows) so Please include everyone who would like hair/makeup at the time of booking so you can reserve the time for everyone.

If the bride would like for us to stay extra hours for touch-ups there will be an additional fee per hour and must be requested at the time of booking for scheduling purposes.

10. What is your cancellation and/or refund policy?

If you choose to reduce booked numbers/services at any time after booking you will still be required to pay for all cancelled services (you are welcome to find other family/guests to take the vacancies). Note: Every appointment is time we have booked specifically for you, this means declining other weddings. Please be mindful of this if you need to cancel or reduce number of services booked.

Wedding Cancellations must be made 4 weeks prior to your reserved date or you will be responsible for the total amount of services agreed. Deposits are non-refundable and non-transferable.
