2. What's your experience as a wedding DJ? How many weddings have you done?

I’ve been a professional wedding DJ & MC for over 30 years, bringing music and memories to hundreds of couples. Since 1993, I’ve performed at well over 3,000 weddings, from intimate celebrations to luxury destination weddings.

Every wedding is unique, but my goal is always the same — to keep the dance floor packed, the timeline smooth, and the couple stress-free. Along the way, I’ve also been honored to work high-profile events including Super Bowl weekend, celebrity parties, and national conferences, but weddings will always be the heart of what I do.

3. How far in advance do couples need to book your services?

Most couples book my services 12–18 months in advance, especially for peak wedding months and destination weddings in Destin, Miramar Beach, Seaside, and Rosemary Beach.

The same goes for DFW metroplex weddings — prime weekends in Dallas, Fort Worth, Frisco, McKinney, and surrounding areas often fill quickly. Many couples are already reserving dates for 2026/2027, so I recommend securing your spot early.

4. What's your rate? What does that include?

My wedding DJ packages typically start at $2,500, with most couples investing between $3,000–$4,500 depending on the level of production and enhancements.

5. Are you available to travel if needed?

IYes — I am fully available to travel for weddings and events. ✈️

I regularly serve couples throughout the DFW metroplex and also specialize in Florida destination weddings along the Emerald Coast, including Destin, Miramar Beach, Seaside, and Rosemary Beach.

For out-of-town or destination events, I handle all logistics to ensure a seamless experience — from travel and setup to coordination with your planner and venue. 6. How would you describe your style?

My style is best described as professional, high-energy, and crowd-focused. I bring an old-school vibe with a modern touch, blending timeless classics with today’s hits to keep guests of all ages on the dance floor.

As an MC, I’m clear and confident without ever stealing the spotlight — my role is to guide the flow of your event seamlessly, not make it about me. As a DJ, I pride myself on reading the crowd in real time, ensuring every moment feels natural, exciting, and unforgettable.

Couples choose me because I know how to create energy, celebrate love, and keep the focus on the couple and their guests while delivering a luxury entertainment experience.

7. What's your backup plan if there's an equipment malfunction? Do you bring backup equipment?

Dance and Joy has the state of the art equipment and prior to setting up goes over all aspects of the wedding. Back would songs stored on spotify on the cell phone, back up batteries for microphones, and speakers are Bluetooth if wiring goes bad. We are prepared

8. What's your sick day policy?

Your wedding day is too important to leave to chance — so I have a clear backup plan in place.

In the rare event that I were unable to perform due to illness or emergency, I have a trusted network of award-winning professional DJs and MCs who can step in. My company, Dance and Joy Entertainment, has been in the industry for over 30 years, and we always ensure coverage so no couple is ever left without entertainment.

That said, I’ve performed hundreds of weddings and events, and my commitment is always to show up, deliver, and make your day unforgettable.

9. How do you motivate a shy crowd to dance? What do you do to motivate the crowd if nobody is dancing?

Every crowd is different, and part of being an experienced wedding DJ is knowing how to read the room. With 30+ years of experience, I’ve learned how to take even the shyest groups and turn them into a packed dance floor.

If guests are hesitant, I’ll start by mixing familiar, feel-good songs that span generations — tracks that everyone knows and can’t resist singing along to. I also use my MC skills to make fun, natural announcements that invite people out without making anyone uncomfortable.

If the dance floor still needs energy, I’ll introduce interactive moments — from line dances and sing-along anthems to spotlighting the couple or wedding party to lead the way. Once the first few guests get moving, the rest always follow.

At the end of the day, my role isn’t just to play music — it’s to create an atmosphere where everyone feels comfortable celebrating together.

10. What is your cancellation and/or refund policy?

A deposit is required to reserve your wedding date. Deposits are non-refundable, as they secure your date and block me from taking other bookings.

If a cancellation happens more than 30 days before your event: The deposit is forfeited, but no additional balance is due.

If a cancellation happens less than 30 days before your event: The full contract balance is still due, since it is unlikely I can rebook another wedding on such short notice.

This policy is standard across the wedding industry and ensures fairness while protecting both parties.
