The cake: after the dress and the diamond, this is what your guests are waiting to see. The wedding cake bakers on our list in Los Angeles will surely not disappoint since their confections are as striking as they are delicious!

We recommend booking in your baker of choice early, but then leave the finer details of what type and the exact size required until you have finalized your guest list, décor, and style.

Susan Sarich has after school sessions with her grandmothers to thank for her love of cake and baked treats. And just like them, she refuses to put in anything but the best ingredients, so you will never find artificial preservatives, shortening, or mixes being used at SusieCakes. The in-house bakers and decorators are masters at their craft. Choose from old-fashioned chocolate cake, southern red velvet, carrot cake baked with oodles of pecans and praline; the list goes on. There’s even a flourless chocolate cake for your gluten-intolerant guests to indulge, and decorated sugar cookies themed to your big day.

There are three aspects of Lark Cake Shop that we particularly love. The first is that the owner, John Hensley, believes that all of the cakes and cupcakes should be sweet, rich, and delicious. The second is that the cakes’ prices relative to their size, ingredients, and tiers are all well-advertised, so you know they are straight up. And lastly, Lark Cake has so many different flavors to choose from, though peanut butter chocolate has got to be what makes us drool the most. Lark Cake Shop also has two vegan cake and cupcake options, including Vegan Chocolate Orange and Vegan Boston Banana.

The bakery generally has 6-inch round cakes that you can run in and buy since you need to try out the flavors after all! There is plenty of choice with regards to flavor profiles, but the Raspberry Champagne had us melting for more.
