1. Introduction: What's your story?

Hi I'm Stephen Johnson, I'm a storyteller at my core. I love telling stories of the couples journey, I started my own journey over 2 decades ago and opened my own studio in 2007. I actually starting shooting weddings when I had a chance encounter with someone at a tradeshow, we got to talking and somehow we got to discussing photography and she ended up asking if I would be available and willing to photograph her wedding. I said sure why not, how hard can it be.

My wife Jeanene and son Christian reside in Fort Worth, Texas. When I'm not capturing other families I'm capturing my own or can be found riding our bikes or spending time at our farm in East Texas.

2. How long have you been shooting weddings? How many weddings have you photographed?

When I began this journey in 2007 I had no idea that I would be capturing 60-70 weddings a year. I cannot believe I've captured over 700 weddings now and I cannot imagine doing anything different.

3. How would you describe your photography style?

My style of photography is deeply rooted in photojournalism, with its roots entrenched in design I'm influenced by fine-art and fashion photography. The result is creative, clean and crisp photography that’s fun, emotional and romantic. I pride myself on not just being a photographer, but rather an artist creating unique and expressive imagery.

I love capturing the details of the day, all the little intricacies you've thought about and put in place, I want you to be able to look back through your album and go ohhhh I'm so glad he got a picture of that...I forgot all about that.

4. How well in advance should couples book their wedding photographer?

You will want to book your photographer or check with our schedule as soon as you begin the process of looking for a venue to find out our available dates. Between November and February is Engagement season and couples start inquiring and booking their photographer as soon as possible. It's not time like the present, call and get your date reserved as soon as possible!

5. What are the different packages that you offer and which one is your most popular package?

We offer several collections to our couples that allow both flexibility in budget and scale of size of wedding. Albums are included in all of our collections, this is the only way to guarantee a legacy to your family with printed images. We do offer digital images as well so you can share images with family and friends but an album is the best way to share and show off your images now and the future.

Our day of wedding collection begins at $1499 and scales up to include multiple days of coverage, multiple photographers, engagement sessions, bridal session and the amount of time. Additional hours and options are avaialble but the best way to save is by bundling or scaling into one of our Premium Collections.

6. Are you the wedding photographer who will be shooting on the wedding day? Who else is there in your team?

I am the principle photographer at Jeckyl Photo, however I have many talented photographers on my team, including my wife when she's available and a couple of other talented shooters.

I shoot with multiple cameras during the day and have two on almost all the time, this allows me flexibility of having multiple types of lens available at a moments notice. However it also offers a more critical defense in the event that something catastrophic equipment failure happens at a critical juncture during the event I always have a second camera available to cover that moment.

7. Do you charge a travel fee? For what distance? What does that cover?

We do offer destination weddings and quote specifically based on travel and time of year. Most of our collections are all inclusive and include travel within 100 miles of the DFW area but can discuss your location specifically.

8. Are albums or prints included in your packages?

We absolutely adore our albums and spend a great deal of time curating and creating our albums for our couples. It is SO important to leave a printed legacy with your family when you area gone. I love looking through old printed photographs and family reunions or grandparents, though my grandparents are all gone now , I do have images and a few wedding albums from family members that we pull out at special times of years or to tell stories about. It's a incredible way to leave your legacy.

We offer several different albums and sizes depending on your need and an album is included in each of our collections with exception our Day of Wedding Only collection.

9. How long after the wedding will the couple receive the images? How will they be delivered?

We strive to deliver images promptly after the wedding and often times are getting teaser images to the couple the day after or a week after the wedding. The rest of the curated wedding is delivered for viewing in a couple weeks after the wedding. During the busy season, September thru November we attempt to deliver weddings in less than 4 weeks and only in the rarest of cases does it exceed this time.

10. What is your cancellation and/or refund policy?

Once the Studio reserves a date/time for the client/s, it ceases attempting to sell its services for this date/time to others. If the event is cancelled or postponed the Studio suffers a loss. The Client/s agree that it would be difficult to ascertain the damages suffered by Studio as a result of a cancellation or postponement of the event. Therefore, the Client/s agree that if Client/s cancels or postpones the event 60 days or more before the event, that reasonable liquidated damages is the initial retainer payment made by the client/s is not refundable.

The Client/s further agree that if the cancellation or postponement of the event is done within 60 days before the event, the reasonable liquidated damages are all monies, including, but not limited to, the retainer that has been paid to the Studio and are not refundable.
