1. Introduction: What's your story?
Hey! I am Marissa, owner and lead photographer for Marissa K Webb Photography.. I started my adventures in wedding photography while in undergraduate school in Illinois..If I give you a date it will age me. (wink wink) I fell in love with weddings because they allowed me to capture mini documentaries in single days instead of month long projects. I am a mom to 1 and a wife to a Marine. We moved to Kansas City almost 5 years ago and in our free time we are often found camping at various National Parks throughout the country.
2. How long have you been shooting weddings? How many weddings have you photographed?
I have been shooting weddings for 15 years and have shot or worked over 200 weddings. My very first wedding I helped shoot was back when I was 18 and then I was hooked. Over the years I have learned all sorts of tricks of the trade and now love capturing a limited amount of weddings every year. This allows me to devote undivided time towards my clients without being stretched thin.
3. How would you describe your photography style?
Documentary, lifestyle, candid with a side of formal. Thats a lot to process but what I have learned is a little bit of everything goes a long way. I am a true to color photographer who approached your wedding day with all the happenings in mind. I think of the portrait your Grandma will want printed right now to what my couples will ultimately print. That way you get everything and more.
4. How well in advance should couples book their wedding photographer?
I always suggest that my clients book me at least 6 months to a year in advance. And I weigh in on the year in advance because it allows you to use me as your sound board. I have seen everything at weddings and I am always happy to offer up some advice when you are planning your day. Most of my couples tell me that they loved that I was always happy to answer questions and point them in the right direction of what they were after and it gives us more time to get to know each other.
5. What are the different packages that you offer and which one is your most popular package?
My most popular package is my $3600.00 package that includes 2 photographers and 10-12 hours coverage, an engagement session, and a post 1 year mini session for your anniversary. There are some added surprises in too. However, I do have some couples that really prefer just a simple 6-8 hour package and those come in between 1800-2800.00.
6. Are you the wedding photographer who will be shooting on the wedding day? Who else is there in your team?
Its always me! And if booked one of my trusty second shooters who can work for 4, 6, or 8 hour increments alongside me.
7. Do you charge a travel fee? For what distance? What does that cover?
My travel fees if needed are added to the package price and will cover air, hotel and or mileage. If the wedding is within 75 miles of KC there are no travel fees. I am always upfront of any additional costs that may be incurred.
8. Are albums or prints included in your packages?
Print release and digital downloads. I have the ability to hook you up with one of my awesome album designers.
9. How long after the wedding will the couple receive the images? How will they be delivered?
This question is always one that people ask and I will give you the best answer I have. My typical delivery is 2-6 for your final online gallery unless life happens and I always do my best to communicate to my couples. This has only happened a few times and it involved a family emergency. I do provide my couples with a sneak peak within 72 hours of their wedding day.
10. What is your cancellation and/or refund policy?
Your retainer is non-refundable and the balance is due within 3 weeks of your wedding date. As far as cancellations just communicate with me and I will help work something out. No matter what- even with your retainer you will still receive a service from me.
