1. Introduction: What's your story?
Hi, all! My name is Grace. I'm a professional Hairstylist and Makeup artist. I've had a passion for beauty as long as I can remember. My dream has been to create glamourous looks for women on one of the most important days of their life, and here I am! I feel so thankful to be a part of such an important event such as a wedding. I love helping brides feel beautiful, confident, and most importantly, like themselves!
2. What's your experience as a bridal hair & makeup artist? How many brides are in there in your portfolio?
I received my Cosmetology education in 2014. After graduating, I started working at a local salon specializing in bridal hair and makeup. In that time, I worked with so many incredible women, and really got a feel for the ins and outs of the beauty industry. In 2017, I decided to start my own business, Glam by Grace! I enjoy having the one-on-one communication with each client and working together to achieve their dream bridal look. I have worked with so many incredible clients, and I have enjoyed each and every one of them!
3. What are the different packages that you offer and which one is your most popular package?
Glam by Grace offers on-site Hair Styling & Airbrush Makeup Services in Kansas City, and surrounding areas. We provide services for Brides, Bridal Party, & Special Occasions.
Our Services can be customized and include:
Bridal Trials- including a consultation & full hair and/or airbrush makeup trial.
Bridal Hairstyling- creating the perfect hairstyle on your big day.
Bridal Airbrush Makeup- full face airbrush makeup.
4. Do you have a team of assistants or will you be the only artist that day? What will happen if you're sick or have an emergency on the wedding day?
I do have the option of bringing an assistant when we are planning on booking 8 or more services! This allows for a much faster getting ready time.
Although extremely rare, I have back up stylists that I will ask to fill in, in the case of an emergency or illness.
5. Do you charge a travel fee? For what distance? What does that cover?
I travel all over the Kansas City area and beyond! There is typically no travel fee for areas that are in a 30-mile radius of downtown Kansas City. I am able to travel to farther locations around the metro area in Kansas and Missouri.
If planning on booking 4 services and under, I require a minimum of 2 services booked with a small standard travel fee per business mile traveled to the location.
I am currently unable to travel by plane or out of state for services.
6. Can the bride book a wedding makeup trial appointment and will you also do a trial before the wedding?
Yes! Bridal Trials take approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes. I will be traveling to you for the Bridal Trial. I am able to travel to homes, hotels, and venues.
It's a great time to try out the look you are envisioning on your big day! I recommend getting a Trial appointment around 6 months prior to the wedding date.
I enjoy looking at Hair/Makeup inspiration photos at the time of the Trial to ensure we get the look you're envisioning!
7. What beauty products do you use and would you be open to the bride using her own make-up?
My kit is full of my all-time favorite products that I have used throughout the years. Some of my favorite brands include Colourpop, Urban Decay, and Aeroblend. I have a full range of colors to compliment any skin tone and eye color. I have false lashes that range from very natural, medium, or dramatic.
I specialize in Airbrush Makeup; I do offer traditional foundation as well. I'm open to using any of your favorite products.
8. How can you make the bride's wedding makeup last and look good in photos?
Airbrush is perfect for all skin types, flawless in person and in photos, lightweight, natural looking, and lasts ALL day long. I always use a primer, waterproof eye makeup, and setting spray to lock in the look.
My goal is to always have brides look beautiful in person and in photos!
9. How long will makeup take on the day and how long will you be staying for on the day?
I typically allow for 30 minutes per service. For multiple services I add an extra 30 minutes incase extra time is needed.
I stay until all services are complete and touch up Makeup or Hair right before I leave on the wedding day!
10. What is your cancellation and/or refund policy?
A completed contract and a non-refundable deposit are needed to officially book the wedding date.
Any cancellations must be made 30 days prior to the wedding date.
I am happy to work with brides to move an existing wedding day due to unforeseen circumstances.
