1. Introduction: What's your story?
Hi! We are Harlow Salon and we LOVE our wedding parties! We have been doing weddings for over 25 years and absolutely love working with brides. All of our stylists specialize in event hair and makeup and we constantly are taking classes and learning the latest trends and techniques. Throughout the years we’ve evolved our wedding packages and have created the Princess Package specifically with our brides in mind. Our Princess Package includes hair and makeup for the bride, a full brunch buffet, unlimited beverages, and an optional photographer to capture the day.
We also offer a la carte hair and makeup, fingernail services, spray tanning, eyelash extensions, and color- all available at Harlow Salon.
2. What's your experience as a bridal hair & makeup artist? How many brides are in there in your portfolio?
We have over 25 years of experience with bridal hair and makeup. We have had our own makeup line, Reckless, that we created 11 years ago with our bridal parties in mind. The makeup is available in our salon or on our website 24 hours a day. We do an average of 5-7 brides per week at Harlow, many of them elopements, and several large parties as well.
3. What are the different packages that you offer and which one is your most popular package?
Harlow Salon offers a “Princess Package” where you can come in with your bridal party and enjoy a fully catered brunch, mimosas, coffee, tea, and soft drinks; all while having a professional photographer capture your entire event on camera. All you have to do is come into the salon and RELAX.
*The Princess Package includes the BRIDES hair and makeup, food, beverages, and photographer (if applicable). All other services are additional. Starting prices are listed below.

4. Do you have a team of assistants or will you be the only artist that day? What will happen if you're sick or have an emergency on the wedding day?
We have a very talented staff of stylists at Harlow Salon. If someone is sick or has an emergency we have plenty of team members who will take care of the wedding party. We all work together and make the bride and her party our top priority.
5. Do you charge a travel fee? For what distance? What does that cover?
Yes we absolutely travel for weddings! We’ve gone across the country or down the street- the sky is the limit!
Details from our wedding contract: Onsite weddings are limited to a 5 mile radius from Harlow Salon which is located at 1027 17th Avenue South, Nashville, TN 37212. Any traveling beyond 5 miles will be subject to the Standard Business Mileage Rate for each additional mile to and from Harlow Salon. Any parking fees that our stylist(s) incur during your event will be charged to your credit card we have on file or paid the day of services rendered. We charge $100 per stylist to travel to your location and $100 per stylist if it is after hours or a holiday.
6. Can the bride book a wedding makeup trial appointment and will you also do a trial before the wedding?
Absolutely! The bride is more than welcome to book a trial run at Harlow Salon at any point. The trial run hair and makeup is the same cost as it would be the day of, we don’t charge an hourly rate for a trial like most places are known to do.
7. What beauty products do you use and would you be open to the bride using her own make-up?
We have taken years to create our own line of makeup called Reckless. Our line is hypoallergenic, non-comedogenic, cruelty-free, and not tested on animals. The entire line is available at Harlow Salon and the most popular products are available online. If the bride is specifically allergic to something and needs to bring her own makeup, we do allow that, however the price of service remains the same.
8. How can you make the bride's wedding makeup last and look good in photos?
All of our stylists are highly trained artists who specialize in wedding makeup. We do a thorough consultation with the client, browse photos together, and come up with a plan of what she wants. We take our time with the client at Harlow Salon to ensure everything is flawless.
Our number one selling product is our 12-hour lip stain, and it really does last 12 hours! Sometimes more! We created fabulous colors to go with all complexions and they won’t budge. Kissing the groom, drinking champagne, or blowing kisses as the wedding party leaves for the honeymoon- our lipstains have incredible staying power and they are our #1 product in the salon. The rest of our products are photochromatic and our final step, the Reckless setting spray, ensure that the makeup lasts all day.
9. How long will makeup take on the day and how long will you be staying for on the day?
Makeup typically takes about an hour per person to apply. When we go on location for our weddings, we make sure everyone is flawless and happy before we leave. We typically do not stay past the time after the wedding party services are finished, as touch ups are typically not needed since our makeup has such staying power. However on the rare occasion someone would like a stylist to stay, the cost would be $100 per hour.
10. What is your cancellation and/or refund policy?
When booking an appointment at Harlow Salon we have a 48-hour cancellation policy. You must book using a credit or debit card to hold your appointment and if you need to cancel or reschedule you must give a 48-hour notice. If you don’t give a 48 hour notice or just don’t show up for the appointment, 50% or the services booked will be charged to the card on file.
If you have a wedding party requiring a contract (more than 3 people getting services or you’re doing our Princess Package) the cancellation information is below:
*A non-refundable 10% deposit is required to book your appointments and will be applied to the brides services the day of.
**Final head count is due 30 days prior to wedding date. You may add people up to the day of the wedding IF time allows. You may subtract people up to 30 days prior, after that, the contracted amount is due whether services are rendered or not.
***If circumstances change (including changing the number of patrons receiving services or cancellation of services) you must notify Harlow Salon at least 30 days prior to the date of event and a new contract will be written (a $50 fee will apply). If the number of patrons falls BELOW the contracted amount less than 30 days prior to the event date, the total amount is still due.
