1. Introduction: What's your story?

Hi, I'm Jeremy Dodson, founder and owner of Dodson Entertainment. I got into DJing while I was in college and I have been passionate ever since. I have been doing weddings since 2019 in Louisville, Kentucky and the surrounding areas. I always strive to be budget friendly while always making sure your day is a success from start to finish.

2. What's your experience as a wedding DJ? How many weddings have you done?

I started out DJing for several different companies before establishing Dodson Entertainment. Overall, I have done around 50 weddings as well as other events.

3. How far in advance do couples need to book your services?

I suggest couples book their DJ anywhere between 6 months to one year before your special day. I often times get booked a year in advance. Most DJ companies can only book one wedding a day and have limits on how many weddings they do a year. The entertainment is one vendor you never want to settle on.

4. What's your rate? What does that include?

Standard Package - $899

Overtime - $100/hr in advance ($150 day of)

Platinum Package - $1199
Up To 6 Hours:
DJ, Emcee, Premium Sound System, Upgraded Uplighting, Dance Floor Lighting, Monogram Light, Unlimited Consults, Professional Itinerary
Overtime - $100/hr in advance ($150 day of)

Premier Package - $1499
Unlimited Hours:
DJ, Emcee, Premium Sound System, Upgraded Uplighting, Dance Floor Lighting, Monogram Light, Unlimited Consults, Professional Itinerary

Setup time is not charged and is done outside of the hours.

5. Are you available to travel if needed?

Dodson Entertainment is available for travel. We charge a travel fee if the location is more than 100 miles from my location. It is a flat $100 travel fee.

6. How would you describe your style?

No two weddings are the same. We change our style based on our couple and their desires for their vision on their wedding day.

7. What's your backup plan if there's an equipment malfunction? Do you bring backup equipment?

There is always extra equipment on site as well as backup hard drives for music. At all times, two computers are up and running so there is seamlessness if there is an issue.

8. What's your sick day policy?

We have partnered with several different companies so if we are not able to show, we have the event covered. Our fill-in DJ will receive all the notes and files necessary to make the big day a success.

9. How do you motivate a shy crowd to dance? What do you do to motivate the crowd if nobody is dancing?

We go out into the crowd and encourage guests to get on the dance floor. We also ask guests what songs they'd like to dance to if they are "chair dancing." Sometimes we play several participation dance songs to get the crowd moving and involved.

10. What is your cancellation and/or refund policy?

If cancellation is initiated less than 90 days prior to the event, the client is responsible for the total fee OR may forfeit retainer only by signing a new agreement with Jeremy Dodson within two weeks of cancellation for a substitute event performed in the following six months. Rescheduling for events cancelled due to inclement weather shall be accommodated whenever possible. Rescheduled events are subject to availability.
