10 Questions with Jay Page

1. Introduction: What's your story?

My name is Jay Page and I am the founder of One Night Entertainment. Friends and family call me Jay, the industry refers to me as DJ Aetii (pronounced like the number 80).

I started DJing in high school, mainly through trying to throw dope house parties for my friends. Fast forward to college, I took my additional money from working at an Italian restaurant and bought my first real DJ Rig. From there I meet a handful of guys that groomed me into the DJ I am today. Taking over bars and rocking clubs all throughout Atlanta, all while doing weddings. Now I pride himself on mixing music for all walks of life, truly being an open format DJ.

I started One Night Entertainment in 2018, right after DJing the SEC National Championship football game at Mercedes Benz Stadium in Atlanta. The goal at One Night is to provide exceptional services that push the envelope of what it means to be a wedding DJ. Our team has spent the time and energy researching how we can give our clients more, how can we leave the audience in a state of awe... The combination of these things have lead us to be the best DJ and Entertainment company in Atlanta. From our extensive background in music to of unique add-ons One Night has got you covered.

Outside of rocking event's I spend a lot of my time grooming our DJs into event professionals giving back to the culture that made me who I am.

2. What's your experience as a wedding DJ? How many weddings have you done?

I've done an average of 70 weddings a year from 2010 and on. This year (2021) our team has 175 weddings on the calendar.

We have literally seen and done it all. Which helps us bring all of our clients visions to life.

3. How far in advance do couples need to book your services?

The sooner the better. We have 5 full time DJs at One Night, so we can do a bunch of events in a given night. And we often will book some of our industry friends to fulfill events. However connect with us ASAP as we only take on a certain amount of weddings on a given night.

4. What's your rate? What does that include?

We have several packages when it comes to weddings. So check out our packages and pricing to figure out what makes the most sense for your budget and event needs. When it comes to weddings we don't believe in charging by the hour.

Weddings are an all-day affair for a DJ. We typically arrive 3 hours before guests arrive and it often takes anywhere from 1 to 1.5 hours to break down. So by the time we charge you for an additional hour... makes no difference in our day. So we don't believe in charging by the hour. Think of it as booking your DJs undivided attention for the day.

5. Are you available to travel if needed?

We travel all the time! We'll work with you to account for a travel stipend, hotel accommodations, equipment needed if it requires a plane.

6. How would you describe your style?

By trait a DJ has to bend to the will of the room. At One Night I would say all of us are the same personally too. We're a group of well rounded guys that match the energy or the vibe of the people we are working with.

7. What's your backup plan if there's an equipment malfunction? Do you bring backup equipment?

We do have backups and/or work arounds. However we buy the best of the best in equipment and every DJ on our team uses the same thing. So we know our equipment well enough and use it often so we would be able to see a malfunction coming from a mile away. Things don't just all of a sudden break or not work.

8. What's your sick day policy?

Our team keeps all of our clients documents and music on a cloud. So if anything were to ever happen to your DJ, another DJ would be able to step in without missing a beat. The back up DJ wouldn't even need to prepare for your event because all of the preparation has already been done, and is synced to everyones computers automatically.

9. How do you motivate a shy crowd to dance? What do you do to motivate the crowd if nobody is dancing?

For the most part we let the music do the talking! But we are great Emcees and crowd motivators too. After doing this for so many years we teach our team to understand the difference between a shy crowd and a social crowd. Just because people are not dancing, doesn't mean they are not having a good time. And most couples don't enjoy an obnoxious DJ who thinks it's their time to perform. So for us it's a balance of bringing out the best in people and keeping the music tone at the right energy level.

10. What is your cancellation and/or refund policy?

Deposits are non-refundable. However because of COVID we've allowed clients to reschedule within two years fo their original date. Clients can also make changes to their overall package as much as they need to. Need to downgrade because of budget... or Upgrade because you saw something on Instagram you can. Your deposit simply commits you to working with us on your proposed date.
