Rossi Florist: The shop was originally opened by Giovanni Rossi and his brothers Michael and Nathan in San Francisco. From the Rossi Brothers Family Florist in downtown San Francisco, G. Rossi’s floral business grew to become the largest wholesale and retail floral business in California in the 1920’s. It had locations in Oakland, Fresno, Reno, and Sacramento. The Sacramento branch was established in September of 1921 at 921 K Street. The phrase “Say it with flowers” was originated with the Rossi brothers, and has been used for decades in advertising.
