Officiant - Patricia Coleman

10 Questions with Patricia Coleman

1. Introduction: What's your story?

With a calling and passion for what I do as a Wedding Celebrant/Officiant/Minister, over the past 16 years I have performed nearly 1000 ceremonies. Your ceremony will be a unique event that we will create together to reflect your unique and special wants and desires. Together we will ensure that the flow of your ceremony and the words spoken embrace your beliefs and feelings about what is important to both of you.

As an important rite of passage, this joyous day of celebration is an opportunity to outwardly celebrate your love, symbolize your commitment to each other and mark the beginning of your journey through life as a couple. Whatever you choose, together we can create a ceremony that will capture your essence and will be an expression of your special relationship.

As we personalize your ceremony, readings by family members or friends, may be included. You could also choose to have a Wine Blessing, a Sand Blending, a Memory Box, a tribute to honor your parents or those not physically present or the lighting of a Unity or Memorial Candle.

2. What's your experience as a wedding officiant? How many weddings have your officiated?

Over the past 16 years I have performed nearly 1000 ceremonies of many different types in a variety of locations - from 2 people on the beach to 250 guests at 4 Star Resorts. Every ceremony has been a special reflection of what is important to the bride and groom to include a Navy Pilot and me stepping out of a helicopter on the landing deck of the USS Midway! My goal is to exceed your expectations.

3. How far in advance do couples need to secure your services?

I am very flexible and it really just depends on my availability. I have had weddings scheduled 2 years in advance and even one that was 2 days in advance.

4. How would you describe your officiant style?

My style very much depends on the couple involved and what they want. I like to think that I have a special talent for creating a ceremony that truly reflects the couple. I have done formal ceremonies with Bible readings, informal ones where the father handcuffed the bride and groom together and nearly everything in between. Together we can create memories that will last a lifetime!

5. What are your fees for officiating a wedding?

Me fees range from $300 to $450 depending on travel time. There is an additional $75 fee for me to conduct your rehearsal. However, in my experience this is rarely necessary.

6. What do you wear when you officiate a wedding?

I always wear classy, subdued non-clerical attire which is typically black accented with wedding party colors. My goal is to be present, to honor the occasion, but not to stand out and detract from the wedding party.

7. How many pre-wedding sessions will the couple need to have with you?

Normally, two including the first-time meeting session.

8. Will you be able to create a personalized ceremony?

Yes. My entire focus as an officiant is in creating the perfectly personalized ceremony that you will remember for the rest of your lives.

9. Are you available to travel if needed?

My normal range of operations is within 50 miles of San Diego.

10. What is your cancellation and/or refund policy?

The initial deposit is non-refundable except in the most extenuating circumstances. The last cancellation day is before the final balance is due, which is typically 30 days prior to the wedding.
