10 Questions with DJ Rony Gee

1. Introduction: What's your story?

Hello. DJ Rony Gee and DJ "T" here from Boss Hill Entertainment. We started our premium wedding DJ services about 4 years ago although we have been DJs for much longer. I, DJ Rony Gee, grew up with many disc jockey family members back when vinyl record was a big thing. I was literally encouraged by some of the best DJ's in the Pittsburgh region such as Mad Mike, Porky, and many others. I can thank my dearly departed mother for introducing me to many local celebrity radio disc jockeys. Since the 80s, my love for music & different genres has changed so much but has brought me here to you today! My better half, DJ "T'" and her love for music really began as a cheerleading coach mixing music for cheerleading competitions. Starting small for her high school, she began to produce many recordings providing services to a number of recipients over the years. Together, we as a dynamic duo, really put on a spectacular show for all our clients providing a very memorable day.

2. What's your experience as a wedding DJ? How many weddings have you done?

Through the years for any DJ, there has always been trial and error continuously. However, being married and working together, this DJ team has perfected wedding ceremonies and receptions. We have performed hundreds of ceremonies and weddings. Many clients ask what do you play? or What genres do you focus on? If you're a good DJ, you play all music. We recently did a wedding with K-pop swing genre focus. Bet you never heard of that!

3. How far in advance do couples need to book your services?

Honestly, we are always ready to perform needing at least one week for planning. However, many couples like to plan ahead well in advance, which we love. We have planned with clients as far as 3 years ahead of schedule.

4. What's your rate? What does that include?

Our rates our very competitive starting at $950 for 5 hours play time in reference to weddings. Most ceremonies only last about 45 minutes while receptions last about 4 hours. We always provide a FREE light bar consisting of 20 different lasers and lights with all of our services. We also provide uplighting, monogram lighting, and smoke machines at an added cost. We also provide FREE setup and teardown, which is about 2 hours worth of work. In all actuality, if the DJ is any good, he/she will have worked at least 14-18 prior to the event. You also get two DJs for the price of one! You get premium DJ's at a not so premium price! We also provide a FREE wedding questionnaire that we work closely with our clients up until the event to ensure everything runs as smooth as possible. What sets us apart from other DJs is that we then create a FREE timeline based off the wedding questionnaire providing to the clients and vendors. That's a wedding coordinators job, but we do it for FREE so we run the show so all the clients and guests have to do is have fun. What else can we say? Our clients are always satisfied.

5. Are you available to travel if needed?

Yes, we can travel. We charge $50 over 30-49 miles, $100 for 50-99 miles, etc. Gas costs money these days, so we charge accordingly.

6. How would you describe your style?

Our style is whatever the clients style is, period. Most clients want things a certain way. We accommodate. If we need to be on the fly, we fly. If we need to be laid back, we're laying. We go with the flow.

7. What's your backup plan if there's an equipment malfunction? Do you bring backup equipment?

We always have extra speakers, computers, lights and accessories on hand in case of any malfunction.

8. What's your sick day policy?

We would have to be on our death-bed to ever cancel. However, the client gets a full refund and we have backup DJs of their choosing.

9. How do you motivate a shy crowd to dance? What do you do to motivate the crowd if nobody is dancing?

Being a DJ, you feed off the crowd. DJ Rony Gee usually gets on that mic, while DJ "T" plays a jam to get that booty moving, and "that's all she wrote"!

10. What is your cancellation and/or refund policy?

We require a non-refundable $75 "Hold The Date" fee for simply saving the clients date and times. Everything else is refunded. If the cancelation is due to the DJ, the Hold The Date fee is refunded as well.
