10 Questions with Christopher Summers

1. Introduction: What's your story?

Hello!

My name is Christopher Summers and I run local event DJ company, iShine Music Production based out of Central Ohio. We are very interested in being a part of your special occasion and we want to work with you!

Upon having over 10 years of experience entertaining people through music as well as experience in hospitality, audio visual, and music production, my overall goal with iShine Music Production is to create great music experiences and be a part of memorable events with my clients. I also come out of Ohio University with a BSc in Communications and that experience has helped me learn how to develop deeper relationships and quality customer service with clients.

We here at iShine Music Production focus on Weddings, Corporate Events, Community Events and Special Events. As a former groom, I’ve been where you’re about to be when it comes to planning your wedding. It’s a very special moment in your life as the bride or groom. Your day is very important to me and I want to make sure that we here at iShine Music Production deliver nothing but the best over to you.

2. What's your experience as a wedding DJ? How many weddings have you done?

I have 4 years of experience as a Wedding DJ and 15 years experience as a DJ as a whole. I also can produce music and run audio visual equipment and shows. I am nearing almost 100 weddings within the course of my career.

3. How far in advance do couples need to book your services?

I recommend to our couple to book us at least two weeks out because that would be very helpful for us on our part! This will allow me to have time to process your request (ie location, time, type of wedding) and check availability too. I want to ensure, as your Wedding DJ, that we start our journey together off on the right foot!

4. What's your rate? What does that include?

We have DJ packages that can be viewed below with full descriptions at the end.

My Staff's DJ Packages (if one of our pro DJs were to to be your DJ) - https://www.ishinemusicpro.com/s/teamishine-dj-packages-4824.pdf

5. Are you available to travel if needed?

Yes. We service all of the state of Ohio and travel fees apply across the nation. Traveling is something that we enjoy doing as a Wedding DJ Company. We enjoy getting to know different couples all across the state and nation and being a part of their special day. We mainly service Columbus, OH but we also have done events in places like Cincinnati, Dayton, Cleveland, Toledo, Akron, etc.

6. How would you describe your style?

I have a fun, relaxed, and laid back style as a Wedding Pro. I am adaptable to my couples and try to be as relatable to them as well. I've been in the same shoes as them when it comes to planning weddings and I aim every time to make their wedding day special and fun as a Wedding DJ.

7. What's your backup plan if there's an equipment malfunction? Do you bring backup equipment?

I provide back up equipment and all equipment is tested for verification before use. My back up plan is to always keep the party going at all costs! If there is unfortunately equipment error, I will have my mixer play music through a second device as I try to rectify the problem. Using back up equipment is truly important too because you never know what will happen.

8. What's your sick day policy?

All liabilities are discussed in our contractual agreements. We prefer to discuss this policy in private depending on our client and the severity of the sickness. Nonetheless, all of our clients will be taken care of properly and will be provided with options such as us finding a replacement or providing gift certificates upon sickness. We will ensure that if we totally drop the ball, the client will be refunded accordingly.

9. How do you motivate a shy crowd to dance? What do you do to motivate the crowd if nobody is dancing?

The best way to motivate a shy crowd to dance is to get their favorite songs in requests. I advise my couples to ask their guests what type of music or songs they enjoy and then share those with me in their song request sheet worksheets. Quickest way to get people on the dance floor are line dances, couple dances, and relevant pop novelties.

10. What is your cancellation and/or refund policy?

All liabilities are discussed in our contractual agreements.
