10 Questions with Joe Husar

1. Introduction: What's your story?

It was 1996 when, in the back kitchen of Kahn’s Gourmet Marketplace in Carmel, that Kahn’s Catering was born. With humble roots in a kitchen not much larger than an average home kitchen, Kahn’s has grown into the leading caterer in Indianapolis. Since our founding, we work to fulfill one simple promise: great food and great service.

2. How many weddings have your done in the past?

On average, we do at least 100 weddings each year.

3. Do you charge a bulk fee or cost per person? What are your rates like?

Our Special Occasion packages are per person. Costs range based on the package selected. Each package includes everything needed for a magnificent meal service including four hours of open bar, cocktail hour with hors d'oeuvres, meal service (with a choice of plated or buffet), and a custom butter cream wedding cake.

4. Do you have a static menu, or can you do a custom menu? And can you take care of various allergy/dietary requests?

Our packages are very flexible and can be customized with nearly any choice available on our menus. As well as a plethora of options for guests with special diets, including vegan, vegetarian, gluten free, shellfish free, nut free, and dairy free.

5. What are your most popular dishes?

There are two items on our menu that are stand-outs amongst our team and our clients. Our Kahn's Salad is one of our clients' favorites - mixed greens, candied almonds, onion confit, tomatoes, and house-made roasted red pepper vinaigrette. However, our sweet pea risotto is our number one in the heart of our team.

6. Do you provide linens, table settings, and accessories? If you don’t provide linens, table settings, etc., will you handle coordinating the rental?

Kahn's Catering is the exclusive provider of china, glass, silverware and table linens. All rentals are handled by your Kahn's Catering Event Specialist.

7. Will food be made on-site or brought in?

Depending on your location, food may be prepared on-site. However, most events begin with preparation at our main kitchen on the Indianapolis north side.

8. Are tastings available and what is involved?

Kahn's Catering offers three group tastings throughout the year. Tastings are complementary with qualified food & beverage minimums. Tastings are also available for a fee.

Our group tasting includes an evening structured similar to a wedding reception beginning with cocktail hour followed by food stations. It is certainly best to come hungry! Clients will enjoy a variety of beverage including alcoholic and non-alcoholic specialty drinks, 16 hors d'oeuvres, multiple salads, 16 entrée options, 8 sides, and several flavors of butter cream wedding cake.

9. Who else is in your team and how many people on your staff will be at the wedding?

We have an incredible planning team with over 60 years of combined experience! As soon as you reach out to Kahn's Catering you will be paired with an Event Specialist who will be with you every step of the way.

To deliver on our promise of great food & great service we utilize server-guest ratios such as 1:25 for meal service and 1:75 for bar service.

10. What is your cancellation and/or refund policy?

If Client chooses to cancel their event, it must be done so in writing to Kahn’s Catering. The cancellation date will be the date that
Kahn’s Catering receives such written notice. If the Client cancels or is in breach of any agreement entered into with the Venue
{“Venue Agreement”), such cancellation or breach will also be treated as a cancellation or breach of this Catering Contract and shall
subject the Client to the terms and penalties for cancellation or breach of this Catering Contract.

If written cancellation is received by Kahn’s Catering:

• 180 or more days prior to the event, the Client will forfeit their Initial Deposit.
• less than 180, but 120 or more days prior to the event, a cancellation fee will be assessed equal to 50% of the Estimated
Total and the remaining Venue Rental.
• less than 120, but 90 or more days prior to the event, a cancellation fee will be assessed equal to 75% of the Estimated
Total and the remaining Venue Rental.

of the cancellation fee, it is agreed that this amount is full settlement of the financial obligation and fairly reflects the economic loss
suffered by Kahn's Catering as a result from the failure of Client to perform according to the terms of the Catering Contract.
