After your big day is finally done, you get the thrill of continuously showing off your wedding album. The first question is usually, ‘can I see a picture of the dress?’. Quickly after that, the next question is ‘let me see the cake!’. The style, design, and ingredients in a wedding cake have changed over the decades, but their central role in weddings has remained steadfast.

Today, there are almost no rules to how you can design your wedding cake. Whether multiple tiered, a large slab cake, or a carved masterpiece, the options are practically endless. Traditional white cakes are always in style, but today couples can showcase their personalities through their choice of wedding or grooms’ cakes. Have a peek at our selection of top wedding cake bakers in Memphis for some inspiration.

If you are not too lost for words, then a ‘wow’ is likely all you’ll be able to muster as you stare at the wedding cake gallery for The Flour Garden. Since 2004, Frost Bake Shop has proudly remained family-owned and operated. A minimum of two weeks’ notice is required for one of their custom flavors, though we do recommend booking your wedding day as soon as it is set and you know your rough guest count. Frost Bake Shop offers free weekday cake tastings and consultations. On weekends, there is a $25 charge, though this does go directly towards your wedding cake’s purchase price. At your tasting, you’ll be able to discuss your design preferences, colors, flavors, and preferences for décor. Don’t worry if you aren’t 100% sure of what you are looking for yet, but do bring in as much inspiration from your wedding as you can. Expect to budget about $4-7 per slice.
