Hi, I’m Stephanie! I’m a photographer primarily based in Raleigh-Durham, NC and specialize in small weddings and elopements. My style is heavily influenced by photojournalism and documentary work. I aim to document your moments as they organically unfold.

In addition to wedding photography, I also offer lifestyle “portrait” sessions for families, couples, and individuals. These sessions capture “the art of the everyday”, and center around an activity or location that is meaningful to the subjects, in order to create lifelong mementos.

That is all to say, I’m not someone who will be in the forefront posing and directing, telling you to smile. I would rather quietly document your important life moments, capturing the emotion and beauty that is reality.

FAQs

How many pictures will we receive?

This depends on type of photography and length of shoot. Engagement sessions average about 30 photos an hour. For elopement and weddings the average is a bit higher at 50 photos an hour. I always choose quality over quantity, and would not feel comfortable sending out images that do not meet my standards to meet a higher quota. I will choose the best and most significant photos to tell your story.

When will we get our photos?

Your will receive an online gallery link with all your photos within a maximum of 1 week per hour of shooting (sometimes less). For example, for a 4 hour event you would receive your photos within 4 weeks. You can download all the photos from the gallery but also share them, choose your favorites, and also order prints! Wedding sessions also receive a USB of images.

What locations do you serve?

I'm based in Durham, NC, and my main service area is the triangle, but love to travel! Depending on the location, there may be a small travel fee to cover expenses. Since I have family and friends across NC, and appreciate any excuse to visit, I waive travel fees for anywhere within a 1 hour radius of the following locations: Wilmington, Ocean Isle Beach, Boone/Blowing Rock, and Asheville.

What types of photography sessions do you offer?

Vidr Photography specializes in photojournalism and lifestyle photography. We offer photography for events such as engagements, small weddings, and elopements; as well as lifestyle sessions for families, couples, and individuals. For photojournalism sessions, I’m just there to document your moments, whereas lifestyle sessions capture “the art of the everyday”, and generally focus on an activity or event, with minor posing/guidance (eg. the light is better from this angle), to create meaningful images. I also occasionally do creative stylized shoots; if you have an idea for one of these, let me know!

What add-ons do you offer?

Our base package includes 1 photographer for 4 hours and digital images. You have the option to add on more hours, a second shooter, and prints. We also offer bridal portraits, engagement shoots at a reduced rate for those who have chosen a wedding package.
