FAQs

How long have you been a photographer?

I started learning about photography when I was 15. I enjoyed it so much that I went to college for photography & graduated with my BFA in 2016. My first photo gig was for a local winery back when I was still in college & the rest is history. So I guess you could say I’ve been perfecting my craft for over 12 years now.

How will we receive our images?

Your gallery will be delivered through an online gallery website called PicTime. I will send you the link to your private gallery & from there you can download & share your photos, & purchase prints. All galleries remain online for 12 months. After 12 months if you need to retrieve your images an archival fee will apply. Don’t worry, I’ll send a reminder before I take down your gallery just in case! This is also where you’ll be able to see your sneak peak!

How does travel work?

It depends on where you want me to go! If you’re planning a wedding or elopement anywhere in the US, I’ve created all inclusive packages for that! These prices include my airfare, airbnb/hotel (including an extra night so that I can location scout & provide a buffer in case of flight delays), rental car, & all other travel expenses. No hidden fees. The price you see is the price you’ll pay. And, because I consider the Hudson Valley to always be my home no matter where I actually live, you will get a major discount if that’s where you need me to be! Do you offer payment plans?

Yes! Photography is an investment so I fully understand if you need to spread the payments out. I do require a non-refundable retainer to secure your date for your wedding/elopement/session. As long as the rest is paid one month prior to your special day for weddings/elopements & one week prior for sessions, don’t sweat it.

We are super awkward in front of the camera. Like the most awkward people you’ll ever meet. I won’t know what to do with my hands. Or my face. Will you help us with what to do during our shoot?

YUPP!! That’s my job! & no, I will not make you do those awkward prom poses or just smile & say “cheese.” I will guide you through every step of the shoot & help you feel comfortable by giving you prompts for things to say or do that feel natural. (ex: Hold hands, look at each other, walk towards me, & tell one another what you love most about them) Using prompts will get you both feeling like yourselves & not super awkward in no time.

    Kirsten made our couples portrait experience so fun!

    We are always nervous in front of a camera, but Kirsten came with prompts and instructions that just kept us laughing. The end result showed it—we l...ook so in love, so natural, and our personalities just shone through. Her lighting and editing brought the warm tones that matched our aesthetic so well. She was a trooper hiking to the top of the mountain. Would definitely recommend Kirsten for your intimate portraits out in nature!
