Lisa Mathewson Photography began as a mere vision of something better. A better client experience, a better approach to photographing real people, a better way of business. My work is journalistic, simple, modern, organic and most of all, it’s real. I strive to capture my clients just as they are…in love!

I moved to Washington, DC shortly after graduating from Marquette University in 2002. I met my prince charming (I know so cliche, right?) in our nation’s capitol and we eventually made our way back to the midwest (our home turf) shortly before our 2006 wedding.

We are like two peas in a pod and have shared a home together for more than a decade. In 2007 our world turned upside down when we welcomed a bouncing baby boy who changed our lives forever. We have since grown our family to five, and embrace all the ups and downs of marriage, parenthood and business ownership. I hope to share much more of my story with you soon!
