A little horsetory…

The Carriage Company owner, Jake Schorr, is the man who first brought horse-drawn carriage rides to Memphis in 1980. Driven by a passion for sharing Memphis history with people from all over the world, Jake helped make the industry what it is today.

The very first carriage was built in the basement of the restaurant Jefferson Square, but upon completion it was too big to be brought up to the street! It had to be disassembled and rebuilt upstairs.

From that lone carriage, The Carriage Company has grown to more than 10 uniquely hand-crafted and decorated carriages.
