About The Rev. Dr. Jeff Saville, and Rev. Rebecca Saville, Your Wedding Officiants

Hi, I’m Reverend Doctor Jeff Saville (call me Jeff!) and I have a passion for helping couples express their love and commitment for each other in a celebration that recognizes the importance of God in their relationship.

I led my first wedding in 1987 after being licensed for ministry by the Evangelical Covenant Church (I was fully ordained in 1989). Since then, I have conducted 300+ weddings in seven states and three continents as part of my overall ministry.

Originally from Chula Vista, CA, in my late teens I realized I wanted to serve God and people in ministry. Toward that end, I earned a Bachelor of Arts in Religion from Point Loma College. I then earned a Master of Divinity degree from Fuller Theological Seminary in Pasadena, CA (1987) and a Doctor of Ministry degree, also from Fuller (2007). Since 1982, I have served in churches and various forms of pastoral ministry, including 26 years as a Navy chaplain (I’m now retired from the Navy). Ministry has taken me nearly every state and territory in America, plus I have lived in overseas for six years and visited more than thirty countries (including two combat zones). I have served people of about every Christian denomination you can think of, in worship, in counseling, in crisis, and in cooperative community support efforts.

My wife Rebecca and I have been happily married since 1988 and together we have three children of whom we are immensely proud.

Since 1992, I have been certified as a “Prepare and Enrich” Counselor by Life Innovations to use their online premarital counseling assessment for premarital and marriage counseling. I am also certified with a similiar premarital counseling tool called SYMBIS. (For more information about optional relationship coaching, click on the tab for “Optional Relationship Coaching.”) In 2011, I received certification to serve as an instructor for PAIRS (Practical Application for Intimate Relationship Skills) and since then have helped lead more than 350 couples to strengthen their marriages at weekend Marriage Enrichment Retreats. All of my training and experience give me the tools to help you make your marriage and family relationships fulfilling, rewarding, and long-lasting–hopefully lifelong!
