About
A more than 150 year old New England barn and farmhouse, first renovated in 1947 to accommodate summer retreat groups, wedding celebrations and hostelers. From its rustic beginnings it has since turned into a unique meeting space and outdoor wedding venue with charming bedrooms complimented by beautifully landscaped gardens, and open year ’round.
Family reunions, church and youth groups, health, music and environmental organizations, and students from elementary to grad schools, are just some of the folks who have benefited from our commitment to friendly service and reasonable rates. Friendly Crossways is a proud supporter of marriage equality and promotes diversity and inclusion in all aspects of its business.
First licensed in 1947 by American Youth Hostels, Friendly Crossways (now Hostelling International USA) is now the longest running HI-USA hostel and as such provides accommodations for individual travelers.
We’re in a peaceful, rural location with easy access to hiking, biking, skiing and canoeing. We’re also a Boston wedding venue, with a history of hosting outdoor tented weddings that goes back to the start of Friendly Crossways in 1947!
