Atoka Strings was founded by violinist Tara Planeta, with the desire to bring her performing career closer to home in Virginia Hunt Country. While we continue to perform in Washington D.C. and the metropolitan region, we especially love and value the local community, and are proud of all the beautiful venues and countryside that Loudoun & Fauquier Counties have to offer.
Our musicians are formally educated in music performance and pedagogy, and have decades of varied professional performing experience. We are also actively involved in music education which includes teaching at private and public schools around Northern Virginia.
Every event requires a different energy & style of music. From understated elegance to upbeat entertainment, we customize our set list to provide the right ambience for your event. Atoka Strings encompasses a multi-genre repertoire including classical, pop, rock, jazz, and of course, special requests. When it comes to our clients, we enjoy going above and beyond to accommodate the special atmosphere that clients envision.
