10 Questions with Paulina Perrucci

1. Introduction: What's your story?

1. Paulina Perrucci is a wedding photographer located in the Bay Area and Palm Springs, California. As a graduate from both Brooks Institute of Photography and St. Mary’s College of California, I know the meaning of passion. I built upon it further, while studying at Speos in Paris, where I was immersed in art, history, and romance. The hopeless romantic inside drives me to capture the raw, intimate emotions of a wedding and the uniqueness of each one. I take pride in making all of my clients feel comfortable in front of the camera through my knowledge, passion, enthusiasm, and motivation to capture those memorable moments.

2. How long have you been shooting weddings? How many weddings have you photographed?

I have been shooting weddings going on 7 years now, each wedding so beautiful and unique in their own ways. I started as a wedding photographer with a business partner where we had a creative name, and would travel the world together. As time went on, our styles grew a part and we went our separate ways. Now that I have rebranded and become an LLC, things have taken off for me and I cannot wait to see what life has in store for me next!

3. How would you describe your photography style?

My style of photography is bright and timeless, where my clients can always look back at their images and relive every moment. The final images are not washed out or over exposed, and I do not at a moody filter. I want my images to look as if my clients blinked and captured the images through their own eyes.

4. How well in advance should couples book their wedding photographer?

8 months to a year! This gives my clients and I time to get to know each other, and plan every little detail. From shooting their engagement photos, to delivering the final images for their Save-The-Dates, to scouting the wedding venue, and being able to chat over the phone for any questions or comments they may have about planning their wedding. Plus, my schedule tends to book up really quickly these days, so better to be safe than sorry! For example, this year all of my Saturdays during the Spring and Fall are fully booked, since that is generally peak season and a popular date.

5. What are the different packages that you offer and which one is your most popular package?

I offer 3 packages, which are all customizable where you can add or remove hours, albums, or even previews. My most popular packages is Collection 1, which includes everything, from all day coverage, previews, location scouting, engagement session, second shooter and a 30 page wedding album. Location scouting may not seem like a necessary purchase, but there is no time to waste come your wedding day. If it is a venue I have never been before, we don't want to be chasing light and searching for the best location. It's important to know where every session of the day will be, and where to host family portrait, the couples sunset shoot and more. Also, for those who are having a big guest list and want the cocktail hour covered, or the bide and groom are getting ready at separate locations, it's always wise to have a second shooter. Little things that you might not think of, but they are all included in Collection 1!

6. Are you the wedding photographer who will be shooting on the wedding day? Who else is there in your team?

I am the head photographer for all of my weddings. Depending on the package, I will have a second shooter covering the groom while I am with the bride getting ready, or shooting the guests at cocktail hour while I am with the couple taking sunsets photos. My clients are with me throughout the entire day and my goal is always to make them laugh and feel comfortable in front of the camera at all times! That way I can capture every beautiful smile, tear, and laugh throughout the day!

7. Do you charge a travel fee? For what distance? What does that cover?

I only charge a travel fee for weddings 90 minutes out of the 95032 or 92270 zip codes. Since I am a Bay Area and Palm Springs photographer, I consider both of those locations to be my home. If my clients choose to host their weddings somewhere gorgeous, my bags are packed and ready to go! Depending on the location, I request one hotel room and airfare to be covered for my second shooter and myself. We will need to arrive a full day before the event to be sure we arrive in plenty of time, and allowing us to scout the property to find all the perfect little corners for every session of the wedding day!

8. Are albums or prints included in your packages?

Yes! My Collection 1 includes a beautiful 30 page linen wedding album. Some clients feel they don't need an album, but if they decide down the road they would like to order one, it's an add on. I deliver all of my final images through a website called Pixieset. This platform makes it easy for my clients to view their gorgeous final images, download them, and even order prints!

9. How long after the wedding will the couple receive the images? How will they be delivered?

I always ask my clients for a 2 month turn around time, especially during peak seasons where I am shooter weddings and engagements consistently. With my Collection 1 and 2 packages, I offer previews to my clients. this allows my clients to have something to hold onto, and share with family and friends while they wait for their final gallery. They will receive an online Pixieset gallery with their previews, and then a fresh gallery with all of the final images. All images are delivered color, as well as black and white. Plus, each session will be put in its own category, which allows them to download and find any specific images they are wanting in particular.

10. What is your cancellation and/or refund policy?

For every client who unfortunately chooses to cancel or has to reschedule their date and it lands on a day that I am already booked for, I fully refund them for any project I have not worked on. For example, had we done an engagement session, I will deduct my time from that session and reimburse the rest to my clients.
