1. Introduction: What's your story?
I picked up a camera for the first time at 11: an old Polaroid I borrowed from my aunt, and something just clicked. It became my version of a sketchbook, a way to hold onto fleeting moments and make sense of the world around me. Over time, those images turned into something much deeper. They’ve stayed with me—grounding, nostalgic, sometimes funny, sometimes a little bittersweet, but always meaningful. They’re still some of the things I value most.
Life took me in a lot of different directions, and for a while, photography took a backseat. I found my way back to it in my late 20s while living in the Southwest, where everything felt wide open and full of possibility. I spent a lot of evenings chasing that quiet moment just after sunset, when the light softens and the landscape turns shades of indigo. That’s also when my focus started to shift, less about place on its own, and more about people within it. I became drawn to how we move through spaces, how they shape us, and how connection shows up in subtle, honest ways.
When I’m not shooting, I’m usually outside—kayaking, camping, playing soccer—or trying out a new recipe. Sometimes it’s as simple as driving with the windows down, music up, and nowhere specific to be.
Indigo West grew out of all of this. It’s a natural, photojournalistic approach that leans into real moments as they unfold. I keep things easy and unforced, giving just enough direction to let people be themselves—because that’s where the magic tends to live.
2. How long have you been shooting weddings? How many weddings have you photographed?
I have been shooting weddings or 12 years full time. I have photographer over 350 at this point.
3. How would you describe your photography style?
A great blend of editorial and candid. It prioritizes candid moments over anything else. Genuine memories and unscripted moments over trends or content.
4. How well in advance should couples book their wedding photographer?
I would recommend booking your photographer around 10 to 15 months out to have the most flexibility in choice of photographer.
5. What are the different packages that you offer and which one is your most popular package?
I offer a one photographer digital package that starts at $3800 for 8 hours, with some additional a la carte items (such as a second photographer) that can be added on. I also offer 35 mm film photography priced at $250 per roll. My most popular package is my 1 photographer 8 hours package at $3800 with one roll of film added on.
6. Are you the wedding photographer who will be shooting on the wedding day? Who else is there in your team?
Yes, I am the main / lead photographer. I have associates I can bring on for bigger weddings and I also keep contingency plans in place in case something should go sideways with me.
7. Do you charge a travel fee? For what distance? What does that cover?
I don't charge travel fees within San Diego, Los Angeles and Riverside counties. Anything else just depends on cost of gas , hotel and / or airplane ticket.
8. Are albums or prints included in your packages?
No, but they're very, very fairly priced through my digital gallery.
9. How long after the wedding will the couple receive the images? How will they be delivered?
They receive a sneak preview within 2 days of the wedding and the full collection within 4 weeks. They're delivered through a convenient online digital gallery. Film photos are sent in the mail with 4x6 prints!
10. What is your cancellation and/or refund policy?
They lock things in with my retainer deposit of $800. I'm very flexible when it comes to changes, provided I have the date. Otherwise it is just the deposit.
