Knight’s Catering is a woman-owned, multi-generational family business, started by my parents, Maggie and Ed McGovern, more than 50 years ago. Over these many decades, we have proudly played a role in helping many generations celebrate life’s milestones – from births and baptisms to graduations and weddings. We are very invested in the people and families we work for and the people who work for us.
From our early days in 1963, when my parents first opened the doors to Knight’s Restaurant — a popular eatery serving breakfast and lunch in Civic Center — to today, we have enjoyed developing relationships with the people we serve. Our regular customers came from neighboring City Hall, California State Federal Building, KGO-TV and Radio, and Hastings Law School, and we saw most of them every day. Soon, they came to rely on us for their office and personal catering needs, and from there our family business expanded to City-wide catering. When Hastings Law School expanded, the restaurant had to close, but the catering business continued and thrives to this day.
