The Rotunda is one of the most recognizable and modern pieces of architecture at San José City Hall. Its glass walls and glass dome are designed to maximizes natural lighting, which serves to enhance the airy architecture. The floor is done in a terrazzo finish. The glass walls on the ground floor of the Rotunda can be opened to allow an event to spill out onto the Plaza.
The Rotunda is a structure that can accommodate a wide range of activities. Organizations or individuals can lease the Rotunda for parties, fundraisers, presentations, and receptions. The Mezzanine, the balcony section of the Rotunda, can also be reserved for events.
The glass Rotunda is a gallery space stretching 110 feet. The main floor of the Rotunda is circular and approximately 90 feet in diameter, with a total area of 6,948 square feet.
