The historic Alexander Majors House, also located on the property, adds a historic flair to your event, and can be rented for photography or museum tours.

Get rustic charm without leaving Kansas City. The Alexander Majors Barn is an ideal location for events of all sizes. Our 2,592 square feet of indoor rental space can accommodate up to 175 guests or be paired down to provide a more intimate setting. Rental of the Alexander Majors Barn also includes the use of our spacious grounds, including the back patio, picnic area, front lawn, and the neighboring park.

FAQs

Yes – alcohol can be served, but not sold. In order to have alcohol at your event, a bartender licensed in the state of Missouri must serve the beverages. Security is required when alcohol is present. The barn will provide an off-duty Kansas, MO police office for $130. The officer will be present for the last three hours of the event.
Your rental includes use of the main barn area, wagon room, vintage suite, restrooms, and kitchen. You also have use of 30 folding tables, 140 folding chairs, and outdoor picnic tables and benches.
No – the Alexander Majors Barn prides itself on being a flexible venue that keeps our renters’ individuality and needs in mind. We do not require any specific vendors to be used. We are happy to make suggestions at your request.
Set up and tear down needs to occur within your 10-hour rental period. If you think you will need additional time, you may purchase additional hours for $80/hour. If you need assistance with set up or tear down, we can recommend a wedding coordinator familiar with the barn who can assist you.
Yes – The Alexander Majors House can be opened for tours for an additional fee. We will provide volunteers and staff to give your guests information about the history of the structure. We can also open the House for portrait photography for a $100/hour fee.
