FAQs

We are a full-service catering company that can help with as much or as little as you would like. Please note that your wedding and menu are completely customizable, so pricing depends on many factors, including the menu, type of food service (i.e. buffet, family style, or plated), the number of staff required, beverages/bar service, rental items, location of the event, etc. Pricing typically ranges from $50-$150 per person depending on the bells and whistles, but the sky’s the limit based on your desires. We have a wealth of sample menus on our website that show our range of pricing (onsafarifoods.com/sample-menus), and our team is here to help! Reach out for a personalized quote via our website: onsafarifoods.com, email: [email protected], or phone: 206.932.9497.
Yes! We offer tastings at our SoDo headquarters Tuesday through Friday, 1pm-4pm.* They are $200 for up to 4 guests, and you taste the majority of your proposed menu. If you decide to book with us, your tasting fee is applied to your deposit. As an alternative to a formal tasting, you may also visit our café (also located at our SoDo headquarters), where you can come in and try our food from the café menu, which has hot sandwiches, pizza, rotating entrees and soup, cold salads, and sandwiches. Café hours are Monday-Friday, 11am-2pm. If you let your event planner know when you plan to come in, they can likely make themselves available to meet with you. It is a good option for trying our food, seeing our location, and getting a better idea of our food quality and taste; however, we are not necessarily able to offer specific items from your menu. *Please note that we do not typically offer tastings during the following months: June, August, December, or on weekends. If the above times do not work for your schedule, please let our team know and we will try to accommodate you.
We are well-versed in all sorts of dietary needs and restrictions, and regularly offer menus featuring vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, dairy-free, nut-free, soy-free, Paleo, or kosher-style items (and beyond!). Let our team know what allergens or dietary restrictions we need to be aware of, and we will be sure to plan a delicious menu that caters to all your guests.
We are a full-service catering company, so we are here to help you at every step in this process: we will work with you to plan your custom menu from start to finish. On Safari Foods does it all - bartending, cake cutting, room flipping, post-event tidying, rental linen/dishware coordinating and more. Whether you are looking for a plated meal, or you are looking to pickup appetizers from our headquarters for an informal gathering, we are here to help!
Buffet-style means that all food will be set out on a buffet and replenished by our staff members as your guests enjoy their meal. This format allows all guests to pick their own portion sizes and menu items from the buffet offerings. Buffet style is typically the least expensive option because it does not require as many staff members and rental dishware as the other two options. Family-style meal service means that our staff members will bring each table platters of food. The guests will then pass those platters around the table “family-style” and serve themselves. This is a fun way for your guests to interact and spark conversations without standing in line for food. Plated meal service means that our staff members will serve each guest individually with a plate of food (think restaurant-style!). Typically, there would be two or three choices (e.g., a meat, seafood, and vegetarian/vegan entrée all with their respective sides) and guests would state their preference before the event (typically when they RSVP). Plated meals also generally feature a salad course preceding the main. Family-style and plated meals both require more staff than buffet-style meals due to the nature of table-side service. Family-style also requires the rental of additional serving-ware for each table, so family-style and plated meals typically end up being similar in price.
