Colarusso’s Bakery has been in operation for close to 50 years creating delicious cakes, pastries, breads and cookies seven days a week. Taken over by the D’Andrea family in 2001 Colarusso’s Bakery continues to carry on its tradition of Italian and American bakery products. “Quality is our number one mission and we strive everyday to provide the community with the best products.”Michael attended Minuteman Technical High School where in 1997 he won the national gold medal for commercial baking in Kansas City, Missouri.
In 1998 he had the honor of representing his high school as the Outstanding Vocational Student of the Year at Mechanics Hall in Worcester, Massachusetts. He then continued his education of the baking and pastry arts at the Culinary Institute of America in New York where he graduated at the top of his class. Michael then decided he wanted to open a bakery in the area where he grew up, so in 2001 at only 21 years old Michael purchased Colarusso’s Bakery. Sixteen years later his passion for baking and his mission of only providing quality products for his customers everyday still burns strong.
