10 Questions with Song Johns

1. Introduction: What's your story?

Hi I'm Song Johns the creative happy girl behind the camera and the founder of Blooming Dreams Photo. As most of photographers did, I started taking pictures as a hobby 10 years ago. Photography using my creativity has become my passion. Making other people happy has become more passion over time. Now it is my full-time job that I enjoy. My business motto is treat others as you wanted to be treated. I have met so many couples and families including small children. I always do feel blessed to get to know them and that they have become my lifetime clients. Every time they come back or refer me to their friends or family, I want to do the best, blow their mind away and don't want to disappoint them at all.
I don't want just cookie cutter pictures. I want to be different. Yup, that's me. I am different and fearless, and do love everyone.

2. How long have you been shooting weddings? How many weddings have you photographed?

My first wedding was 2011. Since then, I have been asked to take wedding pictures and have shot weddings countless. My external hard drives have piled up over time.

3. How would you describe your photography style?

Don't you want to have variety? My style includes all - artistic, photojournalistic, staged, posed, candid, hilarious, emotional, romantic, and you name it. As far as color or tone is concerned, I avoid blowing out the detail by making it bright and airy. I don't make it too dark and moody, either (make it happy day pictures not moody pictures!), and keep the medium tone. I also like vintage or film emulated look. That's my style.

4. How well in advance should couples book their wedding photographer?

Booking a year ahead is generally considered secured and safe. On average, couples book 8 months before their big day. If I am lucky, couples book me even three months before their special day and I can be available and get to photograph their beautiful wedding, too! (Yay!! Make me lucky!!)

5. What are the different packages that you offer and which one is your most popular package?

I like to be simple. Some photographers may have many different kinds of package options. I offer only two types - one for small/elopement weddings and the other one for big weddings which I can cover ALL DAY LONG. (Have I mentioned that I am an Energizer battery that keeps going?) Feel free to reach out to me for more detail.

6. Are you the wedding photographer who will be shooting on the wedding day? Who else is there in your team?

I am the lead photographer and in charge of all on your wedding day. You will see me run around all day long on your wedding day looking for shot ideas and making sure that everything is going well. I have shot weddings solo 80% of weddings during my career. If the couple requests for a second photographer, I have the best associate photographers I trust and you can trust.

7. Do you charge a travel fee? For what distance? What does that cover?

I love to travel and definitely will be there where you want me to be within 100 miles with no extra travel charge.

8. Are albums or prints included in your packages?

Albums and prints are add-ons. However, the package includes a print gift credit so that you can order the best quality prints through my online gallery and enjoy them. It's totally different quality from Walgreen or Costco prints. Please take advantage of my gift.

9. How long after the wedding will the couple receive the images? How will they be delivered?

I know receiving all the finished pictures is like receiving presents on Christmas morning. Within two days, you will receive a few sneak peeks. Within a week, you will receive another sneak peek VIDEO!!! How sweet is it? All of the finished pictures will be delivered no more than four weeks through online gallery first and a beautiful USB flash drive will be mailed. (It is so good to have something tangible delivered in the mail.) Thank you very much for being so patient!!

10. What is your cancellation and/or refund policy?

Things can happen unexpectedly. Remember my business motto? Treat other as you wanted to treated. I receive only a small amount of non-refundable retainer to lessen my clients' financial burden in case they need to cancel for any reason. (I'll be thinking about you and praying for you if you cancel.)
