10 Questions with Clay Vaughan

1. Introduction: What's your story?

In 2008, Reverent Wedding Films founder, Clay had the vision to take what he learned while working in high-end studios like ESPN and Fox to make high-end visual storytelling accessible to everyone in Texas.

Weddings were particularly intriguing to him. As trite as it sounds, he loves love. Being able to combine creativity with his seasoned film background meant he could craft an optical narration of one of the most exciting events in a couple’s lives. As he served more and more brides, the need to grow the team was apparent. He gathered other talented creatives who also love being able to give couples the gift of seeing their memories on the screen, and now the Reverent Wedding Films team can serve even more couples throughout Texas.

Our dedicated team of cinematographers and editors is committed to providing excellent work at an affordable cost–without sacrificing integrity or creativity. You can be confident Reverent Wedding Films will capture the special moments of your day and give you a cinematic wedding film you’ll love forever.

We offer four packages: Focus, Cinema, Story, Feature with our second package (the cinema $2700) being the most popular package!

6. Are you the wedding videographer who will be filming on the wedding day? How many camera people and cameras will be operating on the day?

I will not be filming your wedding day, but one of our highly trained Reverent Wedding Films team will be. Depending on your package will determine how many shooters you will have on your wedding day. Two cinematographers are the most you will have in our packages and generally will include 3 cameras.

7. Do you charge a travel fee? For what distance? What does that cover?

We do have travel fees that start at $150 if you are 60 miles from the major city (ie: Houston, Austin, San Antonio, Dallas). We also travel out of state which will come with a personalized travel quote. Our travel fees cover gas, hotel, mileage, and flights.

8. How do you back-up your footage to ensure no footage is lost and for how long do you keep the footage after the wedding?

Our Lead shooters back up footage for 6 months on an external hard drive and then we back up footage on a private google drive workspace server.

9. How long after the wedding will the couple receive the video? And how will the video be delivered?

Our average turnaround time for our couple to receive their films is 8-12 weeks! We do have packages that have a guarantee of a teaser that will be received 1 week from the wedding day. Our highest package has a guarantee to receive films 3 weeks after the wedding date.

10. What is your cancellation and/or refund policy?

The Client reserves the right to terminate the Agreement for any reason at any time up to the date of the event. Should the Client terminate the Agreement, all money paid less the non-refundable deposit described in this Contract will be refunded up to four weeks prior to the date of the event or 90 days after the requested refund date (whichever comes later). The Client understands and agrees that the non-refundable deposit is a reasonable estimate of the value of the services the Company has already provided to the Client, including, reservation of the date, planning, pre-event videos, and pre-production services. The Client understands and agrees that the Company schedules clients on specific dates and is required to turn away other potential clients who might be interested in that date. As a result, the cancellation by the Client less than four weeks prior to an event would result in financial loss to the Company. Accordingly, should the Client cancel within four weeks of the event, then The Client will be liable for 100% of the contracted rate.
