10 Questions with LaVina Bostock

1. Introduction: What's your story?

Hi, I'm LaVina.

People often ask why I chose to become a Louisiana wedding videographer, and the answer is simple—it's the emotions.
Every wedding is filled with moments that can never be recreated. The way a groom looks at his bride for the very first time. The deep breath before the ceremony begins. A hand gently reaching for another. A proud parent quietly wiping away a tear when no one else notices. Those are the moments that tell the real story.

I believe the most beautiful memories aren't always the ones everyone sees—they're the quiet, genuine moments that happen in between.
That's why I love creating authentic, documentary-style wedding films. Instead of directing every second, my goal is to let you experience your wedding day naturally while capturing the emotions exactly as they unfold. Years later, I want you to hear the laughter, feel the butterflies, and remember the love just as you did that day.

For more than 18 years, I've had the privilege of serving couples throughout Louisiana, including New Orleans, Baton Rouge, Houma, Thibodaux, Lafayette, and beyond, creating timeless wedding films with true-to-color editing, crystal-clear audio, and a calm, reassuring presence.

Your wedding isn't just another event—it's the beginning of your family's story. It deserves to be remembered in a way that feels real, honest, and timeless.

Because one day isn't enough.

2. How long have you been filming weddings? How many weddings have you filmed?

Since 2007 I have been filming weddings full time. I have filmed over 800 weddings.

3. How would you describe your videography style?

My videography style is authentic, documentary, and timeless. Rather than staging every moment, I focus on capturing your wedding day as it naturally unfolds—the genuine emotions, quiet in-between moments, heartfelt vows, and joyful celebrations that make your story uniquely yours. My true-to-color editing preserves the beauty of your day without relying on trendy filters, creating wedding films that feel just as meaningful decades from now as they do today. With a calm, unobtrusive presence, you can stay fully present while every meaningful moment is thoughtfully documented, allowing you to relive your wedding day exactly as it felt.

4. How well in advance should couples book their wedding videographer?

As soon as possible. Usually 12-18 months are best.

For most weddings, I professionally operate three strategically placed 4K cameras throughout your ceremony, along with crystal-clear wireless microphones to capture every smile, vow, and emotion. Years of experience allow me to anticipate moments before they happen, ensuring nothing important is missed. My goal is for you to stay fully present while every meaningful moment is beautifully documented.

If your wedding or timeline would truly benefit from additional coverage, a second videographer can always be added. However, for the majority of weddings, my multi-camera setup and documentary approach provide complete, seamless coverage while maintaining a calm, unobtrusive presence.

7. Do you charge a travel fee? For what distance? What does that cover?

We charge a Travel Fee for any place 4 hours from the New Orleans Metropolitan area. The Travel Fee covers gas. On occasions, we have had to spend the night for a wedding and the couple pays for the room.
