10 Questions with Micah & Rebecca Emerine

1. Introduction: What's your story?

Hi there! Our names are Micah and Rebecca Emerine, we are a husband and wife team! We are located in Southern California and started 7 years ago and fell in love with wedding videography. We both studied film at California Baptist University. In addition, Micah studied graphic design and Rebecca studied business administration which creates the perfect dynamic for our business.

God has truly blessed us with this business and we never expected our business to take off as it has. It hasn't slowed down since we filmed our first wedding (well besides COVID)! We are so blessed to all our clients, friends, and family that have supported us over the years! A few fun facts, Micah loves drinking coffee at any time of the day. One of his favorite things to do is drink coffee right before bed. LOL. Rebecca can never go wrong with a dessert or french fries after a wedding. We definitely are big foodies!

2. How long have you been filming weddings? How many weddings have you filmed?

We have been filming weddings for over 7 years now! When we first started the business, we were just dating.... definitely would not tell everyone to do it. It helped stretch our relationship but also created a strong business. By the end of 2021, we will have surpassed our 100th wedding!

3. How would you describe your videography style?

Our videography style is more raw and candid. We definitely don't want to pose our couples or the guests. We want to capture the true relationship of the couple. Each couple is unique and we want to showcase that. Within the highlight video, we want it to be just that! A highlight of the wedding day! We know that the day goes by so fast so we want to capture those unique and special moments that maybe you might not remember or just want to relive again.

4. How well in advance should couples book their wedding videographer?

AS SOON AS POSSIBLE! Since we have had many years in the industry now, something that we have noticed is that couples usually book videographers last, if and only if, they have the extra money to do so. Sometimes when couples realize that they want a videographer, we are already booked! We know that this may sound bias...but book a videographer. YOU WON'T REGRET IT! Book a videographer as one of your first vendors. There is something SO different about the video, than just the images to relive through. When you are able to watch the video from the day, you can feel and see the emotions and feel if you are at the wedding all over again!

5. What are the different packages that you offer and which one is your most popular package?

We offer three different collections. In Collection I, it is just the highlight video. Collection II is a highlight video and a full wedding film that has the full main events. Collection II is our most common collection. Collection III has the highlight video and the full wedding film. However, in the full wedding film, there is extended footage mixed in the full main events. We say you just have to sit down and watch that video and you get the highlight and the full wedding film in one!

6. Are you the wedding videographer who will be filming on the wedding day? How many camera people and cameras will be operating on the day?

YES! When you book us for videography, you get Micah AND Rebecca! It is super nice having a husband and wife team to split up throughout the day! We make the best team.

7. Do you charge a travel fee? For what distance? What does that cover?

Depends on the location! IF you are within our mile radius, you do NOT have any travel fees. Though, if you are out of our radius, then we usually charge a flat rate for additional distance! Depending on how far away the location is, sometimes there may be additional airfare and lodging costs.

8. How do you back-up your footage to ensure no footage is lost and for how long do you keep the footage after the wedding?

The scariest thing would be to lose a wedding. This is why we back up at the minimum of two backups on separate hard drives. We do this the night of the wedding, AKA Micah does this and Rebecca goes to sleep. :P We then keep your footage for at least a minimum of 90 days after the delivery of your wedding video.

9. How long after the wedding will the couple receive the video? And how will the video be delivered?

We deliver the video within 8 to 12 weeks after the wedding. We deliver it multiple ways depending on the Collection that was chosen. Though, our clients will always receive a Vimeo link for them to view their video.

10. What is your cancellation and/or refund policy?

We would hope our couples would never have to cancel with us! But if it happens, there will be a cancellation agreement that is signed by both parties and the couple will forfeit the booking fee.
