1. Introduction: What's your story?

It’s always been about photography.
When I was a kid growing up in Michigan, I was always fooling around with my mom’s old manual cameras and capturing everything my friends and I did. I took traditional art classes in high school, but even then, I was merely creating paintings of the photos I had taken.

I went on to study documentary photography at the Maryland Institute of Art and abroad at the University of Wales, where I won the Nikon Discovery Award Grand Prize and was named one of the 25 Under 25 Up-and-Coming American Photographers (you can check out some of that work by visiting ginamariebrocker.com).

Frankly, wedding and lifestyle photography wasn’t in the plans. But then a friend asked me to assist at a wedding she was photographing, and my plans changed in an instant. I realized weddings (and eventually engagement sessions and family photography) allowed me to capture the moments I love most – those full of life, love and connection. I came back from that first shoot with a buzz, and I’ve had that same feeling every shoot since.

I’m married to a wonderful Irish man from County Mayo, Ireland and we have two incredible – and incredibly different! – littles. My idea of a perfect Sunday (if I’m not off photographing somewhere) includes spending the day in the outdoors and the evening on the couch, watching a movie, eating good food and drinking a good beer.

2. How long have you been shooting weddings? How many weddings have you photographed?

I began photographing 11 years ago and have documented over 200 so far!

3. How would you describe your photography style?

I’m an expert at capturing life’s big moments as well as the fleeting ones – those little looks or passing glances that reveal a person’s true self. I’m a firm believer in allowing people to be themselves and put the comfort of my clients and their loved ones first and foremost. My training as a documentary photographer means you won’t even know I’m there (seriously), but those final photographs will prove I never miss a beat. And when all is said and done, you won’t just have some amazing photos, you’ll have photos that are amazingly authentic, ones that highlight your personality, tell your unique story and reignite memories for years to come.

4. How well in advance should couples book their wedding photographer?

When you find the right photographer, it's a good idea to secure the date. Here is Boston May - November have a steady flow of weddings and often August - Ocotober are the busiest months. I have some couples book me more than a year in advance and other wait a little longer - it all depends. Either way, I want people to book becasue they're excited to work with me!

5. What are the different packages that you offer and which one is your most popular package?

I offer a variety of packages starting with a 6-hour day and a la carte items to suit every couple’s individual needs. No matter the specifics, you get a selection of hi-res, digital photos ready to download, print and share. Though they’ll all be available in one beautiful online gallery, each photo will be edited individually for color, sharpness and exposure.

You’ll notice many of my packages come with a print credit, which can be applied to frames, albums, and lots more beautiful products. This is my way of helping couples make the most of their investment by getting their pictures off the hard drive and into their home.

6. Are you the wedding photographer who will be shooting on the wedding day? Who else is there in your team?

I find working solo and handling my own gear allows me to capture more moments and better blend in with the background. That being said, if there's a reason for me to bring on a second photographer, I will happily do so. It's all about getting the best possible result for my clients.

7. Do you charge a travel fee? For what distance? What does that cover?

Though I'm based in New England, I'm open to other region/locations and give specific quotes for each location.

8. Are albums or prints included in your packages?

Most packages come with album or art credit which can be used for an array of beautiful, custom products and albums.

9. How long after the wedding will the couple receive the images? How will they be delivered?

For weddings, I aim to send you a comple digital album within 8 weeks via a beautiful online gallery.

10. What is your cancellation and/or refund policy?

Retainer fees are non refundalbe and depending on when the wedding is canceled, additional fees may apply. This information is all included in an agreement.
