10 Questions with Mariela Campbell

1. Introduction: What's your story?

Hi my name is Mariela Campbell. Born in Chile and raised in Australia owner of MCP ( Mariela Campbell Photographer) My business is based on my clients, with less weddings than most. I book a limited number of weddings a year. I am based in sunny Southern California.

I have been a photographer in the wedding industry for over 12 years now and it has been one of the most life changing experiences filled with lasting moments. I started my journey in music publishing, attending events and capturing interviews, video and imagery for our online magazine. My path led me to a truer, more raw kind of love that of LOVE of weddings & relationships I get to build with my couples. Capturing celebratory moments full of love and happiness allows me to build deeper connections with both nature and the people involved. It's important to me that we create unforgettable memories – why not make it an adventure?

As your photographer I’m always ready for an adventure where I can be more than just your photographer. I want to be your partner so that we can create together. Creativity and design are an active and engaging experience. Together we can collaborate towards a common goal – your successful marriage and celebration of love. I strive to go beyond beautiful photography in order to provide you with a meaningful experience.

I have always been passionate about seeing people fulfill their dreams regardless of what that may look like. Being involved in the process and capturing beautiful, timeless moments is the one of the most gratifying parts of the journey but seeing the end result is truly the most rewarding.

2. How long have you been shooting weddings? How many weddings have you photographed?

I have been shooting weddings and events for 12 + years. I have shot 100+ weddings and elopements combined. I book a limited number of weddings a year

3. How would you describe your photography style?

I don't have a set style, in my experience every individual, venue, season and experience is different, so my editing is never ONE style.
I won’t limit you to the times you are meant to be in front of the camera, and yes sunsets and golden hours are beautiful, but that isn’t what makes your images beautiful, it’s the combination of you, the light and myself. I don’t believe there is such a thing as bad weather. I won’t show up at your wedding and be as elusive as possible, I have to interact with you and your guests, and be there for the moments. so yes you will see me often and know I am there.

I will not stage, and create an awkwardness, with forced smiles and poses. I will not ask you to stop and turn and smile at me. I will be there to assist and direct, but the rest is all YOU, just be in love and be yourselves!

I aim to capture your truest moments naturally. does this answer my style ? :)

I book my couples 6 months to 2 years in advanced. offering payment plans to assist my couples.
