10 Questions with Ashley Baeza

1. Introduction: What's your story?

Hi! I’m Ashley Baeza, photographer and owner of Ashley Nicole Photography. I am located in Sacramento, Calif. and was first introduced to the world of photography in 2010 as an Air Force public affairs photojournalist.

Since 2016, I have been photographing weddings and have learned that I have a passion in using my journalistic skills to not only capture the memories you’ll want to remember, but also the happy moments you may have missed on your wedding day.

I have photographed weddings throughout Northern California and have found joy in using my journalistic approach to capture images that make my brides and grooms smile whenever they look at them.

As a photographer, I am dedicated to documenting one of the biggest days of your life. I spend time to understand what is most important to you and to let you feel confident in knowing that I will passionately and expertly photograph your wedding day.

2. How long have you been shooting weddings? How many weddings have you photographed?

Since my first wedding in 2016, I have photographed over 60 weddings. I take a limited number of weddings each year to ensure that I properly dedicate myself in capturing and editing all the weddings I have committed myself to. I take joy in knowing that I have given my brides and grooms the best of me and my work.

3. How would you describe your photography style?

I would definitely say that I present a journalistic style to my photographs. Yes, there is a time and place to pose the bride and groom. There is a time and place to remind everyone to relax their shoulders or tilt their head, but my photos emphasize the laughters of your loved ones and your dad’s crazy dance moves.

4. How well in advance should couples book their wedding photographer?

At the BARE, BARE, BARE minimum I would recommend booking 6 months in advance. However, this will also depend on what time of year your wedding is. If your wedding is between May and October, then you should consider booking a wedding photographer 8 - 12 months in advance. October is actually my busiest month of the year, and this October has been booked for almost a year.

5. What are the different packages that you offer and which one is your most popular package?

I offer three Basic Wedding Packages and three Wedding Collections. All packages include digital images, online gallery, and a wedding album. I also have 10% veteran discount on all Basic Wedding Packages. For further details, I recommend contacting me to schedule a consultation. I love to sit down with couples over a cup of coffee.

6. Are you the wedding photographer who will be shooting on the wedding day? Who else is there in your team?

Yes! I will be your primary photographer. If you decide to include a second shooter, then I will include one of my counterparts to join me for your wedding day. Not only will you get to now me in advance, but also your second shooter, so you can become comfortable in their presence and ability.

7. Do you charge a travel fee? For what distance? What does that cover?

Yes, there is a $50 fee for each additional hour outside of Sacramento.
Locations more than 3 hours outside of Sacramento will include an additional fee for accommodations.

8. Are albums or prints included in your packages?

Yes! It has been too often that I have encountered clients who lose their digital images or who forget to even download them. To counter this, I have included an album in all my packages so that I know my clients have these special moments that they can not only hold in their hands, but that they can pass down to their children or family members.

9. How long after the wedding will the couple receive the images? How will they be delivered?

Photos will be complete 4 - 6 weeks after your wedding date. All images are delivered through an online gallery that is password protected. Not only are you able to download your images through the gallery, but clients have the option to order prints and canvases. When photos are done, a virtual reveal will be scheduled so that I can show you how to navigate through the gallery. Albums are mailed directly to you.

10. What is your cancellation and/or refund policy?

A retainer fee and contract is required to secure your wedding date. The retainer is non-refundable with the exception of a complete shutdown that lasts more than 6 months (such as the one we saw in 2020)
